Waiting to hear if I am accepted

Published

Hi, my name is Val and after working in the counseling field for a while I decided to apply for nursing school. I applied at Southern WV Community College but they usually only take like 60 students per year. I took the pre RN test and got a composit of 117 ( I had to have at least 100). So, I have been waiting and checking the mail every day to see if I got in. Do the other nursing schools require this test and how did you all do (if you don't mind). :uhoh3:

Thanks,

Val

I didn't take that specific test. I just wanted to say hi, and tell you good luck! i've been waiting to see if i get in for fall of this year to a school in PA. But i have to wait until May before i hear anything! let us know what happens!

Thanks for replying. I called when I got my test results (like two weeks ago) and the lady told me that it would be another 2-3 weeks. It is driving me nuts waiting to hear. I think the mail man thinks I am stalking him cause I am out there every day as he is pulling up to my mail box. Val

i did the same thing waiting for my results. it took about 2 weeks and the school received them...then had to wait another week and i had them...it's tough but the mailman and i got to see each other every day for 2 weeks...even my new puppy got in on the deal...he peed on the mailman's shoes :imbar hee hee...

Southern is taking 75 students this fall. You can expect to hear something before the end of March. There were 459 applications this year. It takes a long time going through each students application, checking pre-rn scores, prior learning, etc. I know the wait is difficult.

Each nursing program has different criteria for admission. We believe ours is the best for Southern. Just look at our track record. You will not find many other schools with consistently high pass rates on the NCLEX-RN. One thing to remember, no matter where you go to school, what grades you receive, you cannot be a nurse without passing the NCLEX-RN.

Selection for Southern's nursing program is totally objective. Once the committee meets for final selections there is only a number assigned to each application. There is not any identifying factors that could sway the committee.

If you have questions please feel free to call or send an e-mail. Good luck!
