Waiting for ATT (May 2016 Grad)

Published

Hello!

I'm a recent grad from an out-of-state school. I just got my BSN in the beginning of May and applied for the CA RN license by examination in mid-March. I haven't received my ATT yet and I'm starting to get anxious! I know some grads from local CA nursing schools have already received their ATT weeks ago.

If you could share with me about your timeline that would be great! Anyone in the same boat as me?

Thanks!!

secondlife,

I have already lost out on one job opportunity at my current place of employment. I have an interview next Wednesday for a new grad program at the local hospital with the position starting October 17th. BTW I got your PM, thank you!

Nursingtrends101,

Did you get your ATT or eligibility to test yet?

Hi mamajaan,

Nope. :(

Any updates guys?

Hi mamajaan,

No updates in my situation. I'm close to my 20-week mark since I've applied!

Hey Trends,

Me either :/ this whole situation is so annoying.

I am in the same boat as you are! I don't even know what to do at this point.

I'm in the same boat...application filed April 15 and still waiting. Has anyone tried contacting the governor? I've seen people mention going that route before but I wondered if it brings any results. I've filed a complaint with the DCA and they said they would forward it on to the BRN, but I haven't heard anything else.

Anyone know if the BRN would reimburse you for your money if you want to cancel the application?

Everyone in my cohort is already licensed in MA and I'm starting to feel really discouraged at this point.

Also, if you're out of state can you file any type of complaint?

They don't refund money under no circumstances. I applied during the first week of April. According to phone info from the BRN, it will take additional 6-8 weeks from this point to get my ATT. I emailed the governor, DCA, senator, assembly etc. I got response from DCA and the governor's office that they will forward it to BRN, so I don't expect much. Check recent google reviews for BRN. It's unbelievable.

Specializes in CTICU.

I sent in my application March 30th. I graduated June 12, and I still do not have an ATT. I fear for losing a job opportunity in an ICU residency because of this. I have complained and I never received an email or anything. The last time I called the BRN, a lady hung up on me. The reason they take so long, so I've heard, is because they only have 4-6 people processing all applications, transcripts, and answering phone calls for the whole state of California. This is ridiculous, and I want my voice heard on this! I'm thinking of just taking the test out of state.

For those of you who submitted your applications between March 1-15 I would definitely recommend you call and inquire about your application. As of today, the BRN website says they are processing applications from March 16-30.
