Oh yea! I got all of my papers today! So, if you pay Pearson Vue early when the boards sends your eligibility letter, your ATT is on that letter as well, it saves one step in the process even though I did go to my email as well and had my ATT from Pearson VUe..of course it was in my bulk folder and would have been deleted if I didnt turn off my spam filter. So I singed up for Feb 8th! YAYAYAYAY! Cant wait to get all of this over and start working... Alpha, have you heard anything yet?

CONGRATS!!!!! I hope I get a date close to yours! I still haven't received my eligibility letter but I registered and paid for my NCLEX already (just to get that step outta the way). I heard that our director sent our paperwork to the BON probably around Dec. 20th (2 days after graduation) so I'm guessing I will receive my eligibility letter the last week of January. I stopped studying for the NCLEX for a whole week and I'm dreading to start reviewing again but I will have to...so I'll start tonight. How do you study for the NCLEX and make sure you cover everything?? That is my fear. GOOD LUCK HEARTJULZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm excited for ya!

Hey there Alpha, So far Ive been studying Pharm. I have a book called Exam Cram and have been doing the cd and then I take notes on all of it then also type and print it. I had to do this throughout school to make it 'stick' and so I dont forget... not sure why this works, but it does and is SUPER SUPER time consuming. Im already not doing well w sleep and having muscle spasms in my back... Im getting the feeling this is going to be a long road...ugh! I also dropped my micro. and only kept my Chem. I just cant do it right now ... my main focus needs to be NCLEX ... hang in there with your papers, I had no idea mine would be in the mail Sat. I was so stoked! So if I est. time frame from when my DON sent ours and I got my letter it was around 1mth almost exactly. I will send good vibes your way!

Thanks HeartJulz!

I was debating whether or not to take Micro too because I wanted the NCLEX as my main focus but 8 of my classmates who graduated with me from the VN program are taking it as well so I figured we can all support each other down this long road. I saw the Exam Cram book at Barnes and Noble...I think I'm going to buy it. Another girl from this forum mentioned Straight A's in Pharmacology (something like that)...She said it helped her with her pharma questions and she passed the first time. Pharm is one of my WEAKNESS...I don't think I have the motivation you have...wish I did...If you find other effective ways to study...please let me know! You have been so helpful since I've joined this group! THANK YOU THANK YOU! Remember, study but also get plenty of rest!

No problem and you too have been helpful, thank you! Thats awesome you have all your class mates to take micro w. Im sure that helps a lot. I just went over the resp. sys. and feel so much better... pharm. is my weakness, too... so I gave it a rest and did a different angle. if you want, since I type up notes anyway maybe I can email you notes that I typed up. It may be useful to you... they are keypoints. Just a thought.. if you do let me know your email addy. Also I ordered 4 more books online last night @ ecampus.com. I was able to get SUCH a good deal... the cost of the books I want are average $40 per book... my total came to around 65$ and also you can sell them back when youre done to get money. So I got the Pharm made incredibly easy/PNExam made incredibly easy as well as Lippincotts PN exam review../. and I forgot what else? The times Ive been at barnes and noble and I have found I liked these the best but the cost was crazy... so just more info. if you feel like buying anymore? I have some others I bought in school but I havent used them so much right now... Im focusing more on this exam cram first then aftr Im done the entire book move onto other ones...OK, off to more studying!

That is so nice of you to share your notes with me...It's all your hard work and studying and you"re so kind to share them with me...simeone who you"ve never even met! Well, all I can say is Thank You in advance! My email is [email protected]

I have the Nursing Pharmacology made Incredibly Easy book but they dont have questions...I went to Barnes and Nobles to find that Straight A's in Pharmacology Book but they don't have it so I think I"m going to buy it online...they're cheaper online anyway...I want to also try that Exam Cram but I don't feel like buying too many books and studying from too many either because I'll just drive myself crazy...I was only thinking of sticking to just Saunders and Kaplan and going a little extra for Pharma...But I"ll take your word on the Exam Cram though...Don't forget to take breaks in between studying too!!! =)

My name is Cassey btw..lol

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the Saunders Comprehensive Review and the Saunders Q&A Review?

I have the Saunders Comprehensive Review. Should I also buy the Saunders Q&A Review too?

THanks

I got my ATT on Monday so I'm signed up for the NCLEX on the 28th. I was very lucky to get that appointment, I think someone rescheduled theirs as I was looking at the times. I don't have my eligibility letter yet that says I can work as a GN though. So I'm just a unit secretary w/ a BSN until then! I'm really hoping it comes by Friday...I'm in Florida...does anyone know if that is something that comes via email like the ATT or is that a snail mail letter that comes from the BON? My manager said it usually comes a few days apart from the ATT...I just don't know what to be looking out for!

Alpha, No prob. it might help and besides were in the same boat and can relate so i figured if Im typing them out anyway why not? Ive been studying like mad! Im trying to shoot for 6 hrs a day so far so good and oh my god I have learned sooooo much! mostly barnes and noble, but get this ... Ive mostly been doing sauders and have been doing really really well answering all of the ques. then I went to a Hurst review to switch it up a bit and I got a lot of them wrong! My confidence level went down ... also in regards to your ques. I never realized there were 2 different sauders? hmm, interesting. I might have told you www.ecampus.com is a good site to find books as low as $14 per book. Some are used, but from what they say are in good shape and some are new. I have some books coming any day now... I think I have way too many books, but I feel I need to switch it up 'cause I get bored of the same book and figure I want to 'cover as much ground' so to speak... also a god tip in one of the books was saying that NCLEX is testing us mainly on how to save a life and also is basic as a new nurse... kinda makes you think that a lot would basics such as lab values, med. side effects, categories of drugs, of course safety and also focus on scope of practice ... we would never do the job out of our scope and see an unstable client.. thatd be the RN. I did read a lot on triage which is the same as delegating.. Ive covered some very interesting topics...!! I will email you tomorrow some of my notes i have typed up so far.. mostly Pharm. but Im also writing in my notebook and havent transferred it yet.. it just sticks better when I do the reading, the notes and then type and print... ugh! I wish I learned in an easier way!!!

I wish I'd get my ATT. I graduated 12/13, and still nothing. I registered with Pearson 7 days ago.

I saw yesterday that they have an opening at my nearest site next week, but at 8 AM.

I'm not a super-early person.

I hope they have some later - in -the-day options!

Waiting Anxiously!

Graduated Dec. 8th. School did not send packet off until JAN 4th -- Nearly ONE MONTH later! ARGGGGG!!!!!!!:angryfire

Checking my e-mail about every 15 minutes when home.

I guess I will be lucky to test by the end of MARCH!

My state will not even show you the test dates and sites available until you get your ATT so I can't even plan work around potential test dates!

OK Rant Over!

Congratulations to everyone who has their letter.

Good Luck to US ALL on the test!
