the wait game is still going...

U.S.A. Texas

Hey guys,

Just trying to kill some time while I wait and wait for the letters to come. I feel a little better because I heard that a few people already got their denial letters from UTMB. Maybe the later it gets the better? Who knows?

Anyone else playing the waiting game? Any suggestions on how to get through this??? I would hate to die of anticipation before the letter gets here. :)

I heard in one of the other forums about people getting accepted (in other states) via email. Has anyone heard of any Texas schools doing that?

but i'd rather get it in the mail. getting mail (that isn't junk) is great...plus it gives you something to put on the fridge! :chuckle

I know exactly what you mean :chuckle

You would still get your official letter but they notify earlier by email. I would LOVE it if my school would do that instead of making me wait until April.

I know what you mean....I wigged out so much over the "invitation" to the second phase of admissions at UTSON-H; I don't even want to think how nuts I'll be if/when I get an acceptance letter. I wonder if those acceptance letters will stick to the rear window of my car? LOL :chuckle

Wow...things got a little ugly in here for a while.

I have also heard that if you get a denial letter you should follow up on it. And that is not just at UTMB. Sure its a computer program figuring everything out but some BODY has to put the information in and mistakes do happen.

So no matter what that letter says FOLLOW UP!!!!

Hopefully I won't have to follow up tho...I just want to let the celebrating to begin. :)

I may die if I have to wait untill APril 15 ......

it is an awfully long time to be nervous. this is the perfect time to take up jogging! it's hard to think about getting a letter when your lungs and legs are burning!

Jogging...what a great idea. :)

That is much better than constantly checking the enrollment services webpage and looking at that stupid ol' "application pending" . I mean why can't they update THAT. Maybe they could change it from "deadline" to "entering names into the computer" to "you have made the first cut" to "allllmost there, just a few more days" But NOOOO its just that dumb ol "application pending". I mean that doesn't tell you ANYTHING. SHEHSHSH

Are you both waiting on letters for the accelerated bsn program or the regular bsn program at UTMB?

Hi G-Boz,

I'm waiting to hear about my application to the regular BSN program. So, yes, I have also been biting my nails. Luckily, I have picked up some CNA work at UTMB/MD Anderson in the Sarcoma Unit until the fall and that has been keeping me busy. I only wish that I'd gotten this job before I sent my application into UTMB-SON because, maybe, having experience at MDACC would have helped. Oh well, time will tell! Are you in the accelerated program?

Hi Kim

I'm still finishing up my pre-req's and when i'm done I plan to apply to the UTMB accelerated BSN program. Its a good thing you picked up some cna work because now this is one of the requirements for their program.

God bless
