  1. Liz I was accepted into the program as EMT-B but I'm also I'm a military corpsman which makes me eligible for their program, but you are still missing the point, Just like Traumahawk said in an earlier post EC has changed their admission guidelines so what's the holdup with California?
  2. Liz An EMT liscense is not easy to get, EMT-P(Paramedics) have worked in those positions they have tons of clinical time, so please do you research before you start talking about subject that you have no knowledge of. We all aoplogize that you have to go through a traditional program, and didnt qualify for the EC nursing program, You must have some connection with California nursing board, because you sure sound like them, maybe one day you will get over your jealousy of EC grads, please get a life!
  3. Once again and I dont want to keep beating this drum, people who have been admitted in the EC program have already had clinical time, and that is why these people are admitted in the EC program. California needs to get with the program, the labor department said there is going to going to be a nursing shortage for a long time.
  4. Lizz What is your point and what does this have to do with the pros and cons of the EC program?
  5. liz I'm confused so you are saying that EC should limit their program just to LVN's, I totally disagree I 'm a military Corpsman some things we do are at a level of a RN and higher, a military corpsman is eligible for the EC nursing program, there is a reason why EC allows more than just LVN's into their program, have you even reseached that point? People that are accepted into the EC nursing program have tons of clinical experience, so why re-invent the wheel.
  6. Lizz Do you think people should attend traditional schools vs non traditional schools like exclisior?
  7. The college network man was feeding you a bunch of junk, remember he is a salesman, to all please dont get fooled into signing contracts with bad companies like rue, chancellors, college network etc. You can buy the study guides on ebay for a cheap price, and you can also download the free EC content guides for free. These publishing companies are after your money.
  8. I'm a military corpsman so I think I should be ok with the clinicals
  9. Hi Kim I'm still finishing up my pre-req's and when i'm done I plan to apply to the UTMB accelerated BSN program. Its a good thing you picked up some cna work because now this is one of the requirements for their program. God bless
  10. Are you both waiting on letters for the accelerated bsn program or the regular bsn program at UTMB?
  11. A lot of hospitals take new grads so those of you who will graduating from nursing school dont be discouraged from this negative post!
  12. Number one I dont have any friends who work there and two I'm not one of them. You are making a big deal out of nothing. Everybody experience is different you will sometimes run into problems. The lady is right you should be very blessed that UTMB accepeted you inspite of your negative attitude. The website is there for a reason, I had some minor problems with UTMB, but I was able to resolve them with the admissions office, please change your attitude before you become a nurse, the nursing field doesn't need attitudes like yours in the field. God bless
  13. Lately besides checking the UTMB website, I have also been in constant contact with pre-admissions advisor, and would even email them course outlines to make sure I'm taking the right course, and they responded to my emails promptly. The nursing pre-admissions advisor at UTMB told me the reason why there are changes in 2007 is so that the nursing school can be shorter due to the shortage of nurses.
  14. Has anyone here taken Collin community college online pharmacology and pathophysiology class if so could you state your experience? Thanks
