would you please be so kind an e-mail me a rough description of the hospital you work in, how many years of experience you have and what your hourly wages are??? Please, our hospital is trying to enter the new mellinium now and modify the wages to current standings.
Please let me also know, how call is reimburst, it would help me a lot to build a case for management.

I am employed by a 225(?) bed rural hospital and have worked in Med/Surg and surgery in the past 7 years. Since I have started working in the OR, I have found that, in my facility, Nurses are very much taken for granted. Because of this there has been many staff changes and though the administration seems to feel the staff is treated fairly there is still a large "gap" in what the "higher ups" and the staff think is exceptable. We are currently receiving $1.50/hr for carrying the beeper while on call. We are paid time and a half while working on-call. My hourly salary after 7 years is $17.89/hr. I don't know if some may think this is an appropriate wage for the amount of experience, but they are currently hiring new grads with no experience for under $1.00 less than my salary. Hope this helps give you an idea of the "rural" area.

225 bed hospital. $4.75/hr to carry beeper. Average hourly wage is about $18.00/hr. Have to consider where you live. I live in Southern California where things are VERY expensive.
I work at a rural hospital with an average in-patient daily census of 5-20(max)...no kidding.We do OB, but are about to lose our general surgeon so the only call we usually get is c-sections, D&C's, and some emergency endoscopic procedures which we also do in our dept.I was hired with the max. for yrs of experience since I was an LPN for 12 yrs.I make $14.70/hr. and $1.25/hr for on-call.No OT of time and a 1/2 is paid unless you work over 40 hrs/week.Usually it is a battle to get 40 hrs in, since often we have no cases scheduled, and a busy day may consist of 4 scopes(colonoscopy-egd-bronch)and maybe 3 surgeries.We have 3 FT RN's , 1 FT LPN, and 1 PT LPN working 8 hr shifts, 5 days a week.We are not mandated to take time off YET, but usually opt to do so when business is slow.I am getting ready to travel soon....Oh, also-this is rural southwest Mo.Hope this helps.
you all need to come to cleveland. I work in a 20 bed ICU and make $21.15/ hr. I have a little over one year of experience!! I just got a raise so that we could be competitive with all of the other hospitals in the area. You all should be getting paid much more...
Just graduated in May and started training in the OR in June. 171 bed facility and we have 9 rooms in our OR. Starting pay for a new grad....$17.81/hr. RN's circulate only...surgical techs are used for scrubbing. Level II trauma...we do everything except hearts. (and even that is being discussed as a possibility someday) I think the pay for call is $1.50/hr with time and 1/2 when you get called in.....not sure 'cause I don't take call until my training is over next spring.
I work in a 200 bed acute hospital in So Cal as an RN in PACU.
Currently we receive 25% of our base hourly wage to carry the beeper, time and a half for call backs and my hourly is $29.20 after 20 years. Some of my co-workers make more, some a tad less. Hope this helps.

I work in a 350 bed hosp. in a small town in WV. In PACU we do call on weekends only 7A-7P. We either get 10 or 15% (I can't remember which) of our base for carrying the beeper and time and 1/2 base for coming in. You also get any clinical ladder you have and also get $1/hour critical care pay for all time worked, including your callback hours. Base rate is from $17-25 depending on length of time at the hospital instead of on your experience.
I work in a 1200 beds Hospital in HongKong, I am an OR nurse of 11yrs experience and my hrly salary is approx. 22USD/hr.
I work in a suburban acute care hospital OR in southern New England; salary approx $33.00 hr. w/ 25 years experience. Call pay approx $40.00 per 8 hr shift with time 1/2 for call backs. Our facility is unionized which accounts for the salary.
