Anyone starting this class in the Spring2016. Maybe this thread can help with questions or clarifications during the course.

I was wondering about that! I tried googling the website for the FEMA certificate and I wondered if there was an specific website to take it from? What site did you use?

I took American literature! I really enjoyed that class[emoji106]🏻 its a good choice for doubling![emoji106]🏻 not to heavy on assignments and enjoyable!

For American literature I read the books during a school break before the class started... That really helped getting ahead.

Oops sorry, it was World Literature that I took. But it should be about the same work load and design...

I found the training at https://training.fema.gov/is/courseoverview.aspx?code=IS-100.b. Apparently we can either do the IS 100 or IS 700. It takes a few hours, at the end you get a printable certificate and that's what we will need to scan and submit for that week's assignment.

Thanks, I was considering doing research with leg or coop instead of populations. I really shouldve done research with mgmt,; easy class.

In my opinion, the work cooperative elective was the easiest class in the program. You have to develop three goals (one goal for each of the following: teamwork, professionalism, and evidence-based practice) applicable to your work setting. Then after every shift you work you have to journal about your experiences related to working toward those goals. They give you a format for the journaling, and you have to turn it in each week. You have to journal for a minimum of 120 work hours, but even if you reach 120 hours in week three you still have to continue to journal about each shift until the end of the course. There were usually two discussion boards a week, and for some of them you have to cite an appropriate source or two. Toward the end of the class in week four or five you have to write a paper about your goals, experiences, etc. After about week two, the journaling got a little old, but you just have to do it. What made it so easy was that it is pass/fail. You don't have to worry about whether you make an A, B, or C because all you have to do is pass.
