  1. I think it depends on where you see yourself practicing as an advanced care provider. With my interest in adult radiation oncology adult gero primary care is definitely a no brainer as we don't see OB and definitely don't see pediatric. Some say this limits you as you are not licensed to care for patients under the age of 13 whereas FNP covers whole life span. When I went for the open house in February they told us the FNP program always gets a wait list as it is their most popular program.
  2. I received my acceptance email into the Adult Gero Primary Care NP program yesterday as well! Excited, but then I started thinking, "what have I gotten myself into??"
  3. Still waiting here as well. Wow, I thought there would at least be a cutoff date for all responses to go out much sooner than that. Good to know though, I was about to send a follow up email from my February one! Thanks for letting us know.
  4. She just replied "as soon as I hear anything about your application I will update your Mystar and send you an email." We shall see!
  5. I did as well and was told the admissions committee will meet on 2/13 and 2/20 to catch up on all the applications NCAS has released into their database. So we will see!
  6. How did they let you know? Was it by email or in regular mail?
  7. Applied at the end of November for the Adult Gerontology Primary Care NP, still waiting to hear as well!
  8. I bought the lab manual and I didn't open it once. Everything you need to make an "A" in this class is in your textbook. You definitely need the book and the templates they give you for each body system assessment is word for word in the textbook. It is a detailed class but I found it rather easy and not as dreadful as people made it sound. You just can't abbreviate like bpm, mmHg, and you have to say things like ten digits and use the word bilaterally a lot. The quizzes were timed but I didn't think any of them were really difficult.
  9. I found the training at https://training.fema.gov/is/courseoverview.aspx?code=IS-100.b. Apparently we can either do the IS 100 or IS 700. It takes a few hours, at the end you get a printable certificate and that's what we will need to scan and submit for that week's assignment.
  10. I'm taking it with American Lit. Already done my FEMA cert thanks to the heads up from this site and the UTA facebook group. So that will relieve some of the workload.
  11. I am taking this class in January! It will be my last class before Capstone, thank goodness!!
