Vital Sign Question??

our teacher posted this question on our msg board and i was curious as to what you all think the answer is...

when would you take the pulse in relationship to bp and why??

I would always base my question on what I was studying at the time. Are you studying hypvelemia or cardiac states--- then you are looking at a tachy with a low Beep.

Or is she looking for more general......take and pulse and then do Beep so you know to go 10-20 above where you no longer feel a pulse.

Well she just wanted to know which order you would take pulse and BP and why.... She never gave an answer but the whole class came to the conclusion that you would take the Pulse first because doing BP then pulse would cause your pulse to be thready??

So........ Its amazing how we can read so much into a simple little question :)
