Members are discussing acceptance into the VCU DNAP program, with some receiving acceptance emails and others being waitlisted. There is confusion about finding the Facebook group for the program, questions about relocation requirements for the program, and a discussion on the differences between a DNP and DNAP degree in terms of teaching opportunities. Some members share their excitement about getting accepted, while others seek advice on reapplying to the program.
Is anyone in here applying for the upcoming VCU CRNA application cycle for January 2025 start?

I hope so LOL I'm nervous about the pre recorded format
MCSatYS said:They said that they know it will be virtual but can't speak on whether it will be pre-recorded or not. They said the pre-recorded happened during Covid. They project ~500 applicants so I have a feeling it will be pre-recorded still
Wow! That's a lot. I thought it was 100-150 applicants
Hey guys!
I am replying here now that the deadline is quickly approaching. First year here. Good luck to everyone! Some of you on this thread will be fortunate to be selected for this cycle. The program is highly competitive since the GRE was removed in 2021-2022. Applications during the last cycle were > 500–600. The biggest tip for those who will be selected to interview, whether pre-recorded or virtually in person, is to sell yourself and be confident during your interview. Be professionally dressed and well-polished, have good body language, and be clear, concise, and well-spoken. Your stats on the application grant you an interview, but the interview is what seals the deal. Emotional intelligence and self-awareness are what make a successful SRNA. That's what matters.
Know about the CRNA profession, know why you want to come to VCU and give truthful answers that are natural and don't sound reheorificed. Also, if it is a clinical question, then do not guess because they can see right through it!
Good luck to you all!

Oh wow I thought they said during the info session that they had around 300! Can you speak to how you are enjoying the program? Relationships with professors?

Great faculty from my pre-admission phase networking. Advocates for the profession on the state and national level. Really there to support you. Diverse faculty members who come from various clinical backgrounds.

Would you say interview is more personality or clinically based?
