Villanova University BSN Express May 2018 Cohort

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Hey Everyone!

I'm planning on applying for the BSN Express program at Villanova University starting in May of 2018! Is there anyone else applying? I have heard a ton of good things about the nursing programs at Villanova and would like to see where other people are at in their application process.

I'm not from the Philadelphia area, but would love some insight! I am originally from Minnesota but am looking to branch out so anything helps.

I look forward to hearing from you all!

Hi Dedancer, did you end up getting accepted after your interview?

Hi guys! I will be attending the May 2018 cohort. Was wondering if anyone was connecting? I couldnt find that facebook page.

I was wondering if I could ask you a few questions? I am not able to private message on here, would you be willing to give me your e-mail address? Thanks!

Hi everyone,

I know this thread is from 2017, but I am interested in applying to Nova's ABSN program and would like to get some feedback about your experiences. I have been accepted to a few ABSN programs that are slated to start this fall; however, I've been doing some research and starting to fall in love with Nova. Part of me is saying to start this year and get it over with. The other half of me really wants to take the year off in hopes of applying and being accepted for next year's cohort in 2021. Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated ?

100% nova all the way. You will not regret it. There was a lot riding on it for me since I moved from California to philly for this program. I am so happy I made that choice. I will he graduating July 2020.

That's awesome- CONGRATS! I'm leaning more towards taking the year off and applying for next year's program. It's definitely a huge risk but one that I think I'm willing to take. Do you know what they look for in a student? I've tried calling the office of nursing because I have a few questions but haven't heard back yet. My next option is to email Kristin.

In my opinion, that’s not necessarily the questions you should be asking the program. I think you should ask more about the resources they provide, support ect.

You can never know what sets you apart in applications more than others. Judging from everyone else’s history in my cohort, most everyone seemed to have volunteer experience (CNA, EMT, med sales, dietician, doula). However, there were plenty of people that had no prior healthcare experience as well.

I believe they look for people that are passionate about nursing and would represent the Villanova name well. Be yourself and express your passionate for helping others, and I’m sure you’ll do great!

Thanks for the insight. I agree. Just want to make sure I do all I can to increase my chances of getting accepted.

I also have a quick question about the program since you're a current student. Does the school participate in the HESI exams? If so, how do they calculate it into your final grade?

No, no HESI exams.

Hi this is a question for anyone who were in the program : Do you think I can use an iPad Pro while in the program ? I know they aren’t recommended but there has been so many software changes /updates with iPadOS and I see they have examplify for iPad . Just curious to know if anyone is getting through using one before I make the decision to buy a Laptop . Thanks
