Villanova BSN Express 2020

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Hi!

I just wanted to create a forum for those applying for the BSN Express for May 2020 at Villanova University.

I just had my interview last Friday and I am waiting patiently with the unknown. Does anyone know about how long it takes to hear? I assume it will be awhile unfortunately.

Good luck with the application process!

Hi!

I am not sure if this thread is still active but thought I would try to reach out here before starting a new topic! I submitted my application on 8/22 and still have not heard back which I feel may be a bad sign (or maybe i am being over eager)? Has anyone else experienced this? It seems like everyone here heard back for an interview relatively quickly. I still have a couple of prerequisites in progress, but my GPA and completed requirements are very strong. Just was hoping to hear what other people are experiencing. Thanks!

Hello. I wouldn't quite worry yet. It's still early in the process. I had my interview during the summer and was told I won't hear back till some time in September. Most of the staff were on vacation. I would say give it till the end of this month. Hope this helps.

Definitely wouldn’t worry. I was accepted in July/August but I believe only those who applied before the priority deadline heard back. If you applied after that date, I wouldn’t worry since they’re still reviewing!

Hi everyone! I am definitely going to Villanova next year and can't wait to meet you all. I was wondering if anybody could answer some questions I have since I have already bombarded Kristin with a thousand emails haha.

1. Are there any opportunities to meet the current cohort and ask them questions about their experience in the BSN Express program/get to know others who were accepted?

2. Is there a tentative schedule with which days of the week class and clinical falls on? I remember the woman who interviewed me telling me about a rough schedule, but I interviewed in July, so I just want to make sure I am remembering correctly!

Thanks!!

I just applied and waiting for 2 transcripts to arrive! How soon after submitting all documents did you guys get an interview invite?

Thanks for answering! I'm just so nervous. I had planned to apply early decision but some unforeseen family issues came up. Congrats on your acceptance!

I applied at the end of June, and was invited for an interview about 10 days after that. I interviewed in mid July, and heard back on August 2nd! Good luck!!

I just got offered an interview! Anyone else? Should I prepare in anyway? What kind of questions do they ask?

For anyone who has been accepted for the May 2020 cohort, I created a Facebook group if you would like to connect!

Hey everyone! I was accepted about 2 weeks ago! I was interviewed on Monday and received the acceptance that Wednesday, 2 days later! Thinking about either Nova or Jefferson!

Hi this is a question for anyone who is currently in the program : Do you think I can use an iPad Pro while in the program ? I know they aren’t recommended but there has been so many software changes /updates with iPadOS and I see they have examplify for iPad . Just curious to know if anyone is getting through using one before I make the decision to buy a Laptop . Thanks

I was recently accepted into the program with the start date of May 2021! For those of you currently in the program, how do you like it so far? How’s the faculty and classes? Is the workload manageable? Also I’m hoping to live with other students in my cohort, did the school help you connect at all with others in the program?

Congrats on being accepted!! I really like the structure of the program and its have a good flow. The faculty is very supportive and knowledgeable and I have not had a bad clinical instructor yet. We did start completely online due to COVID so our experience is a bit different. The workload is manageable but the first Summer is intense so it is recommended not to work, but the rest should be fine if you have good time management. A facebook group usually pops up for the cohort so people found people to live with. The program did what they could with getting people to know each other but again hard with COVID, you find people to study with and work with in clinical.

An IPad would be a good tool for notes and studying. However, you need a laptop to complete exams and online clinical experiences. They don't let you use Ipads for examplify.
