Villanova BSN Express 2023 - Admitted Students

Updated:   Published

Hey there! This is my first post after lurking these forums for a while to help me select a good program! ? I'm so excited to be a nurse soon and so thankful for the inspiration I got from this website.

I applied early-decision to Villanova's Express BSN program and was accepted to start May 2023! Are there any other admitted (or prospective) students for Villanova's 14-month BSN program? I will be new to Philly, and would love to connect to classmates before first day of class. There is an admitted student's dinner on Tuesday 10/25 and I plan to attend. Anyone else?

Also - anyone familiar with the area that can give advice on safe and reasonably priced places to live within a 30min radius of Villanova's campus?

Hello,

I was also accepted into the 2023 ABSN cohort pending me passing their Pathophysiology course which starts in January 2023. I am also thinking of attending the event on the 25th so it should be fun to see all the other prospective students! I am from the west coast and it will be my first time being in the east coast so I am also needing some information regarding housing situations. Best wishes to everyone!

Congrats on your acceptance! I am also taking their online Pathophysiology course in January. I plan to use the day before the dinner to explore the surrounding areas in person, to get a feel for average prices, metro/trains/shuttles, and safety. Hopefully I'll see you next week! ?

Hey, I'm also from the west coast and was accepted! Congrats! I'm not able to make it all the way out there for the open house next week, but I hope you learn some good info about housing. Are you taking Villanova's patho course in the Spring or taking it through Portage Learning? I was told we have an option but haven't found much info about which one most people end up doing.

Glad to hear another person from the west coast will also be attending! I didn’t know portage learning was an option, and it is significantly cheaper than doing it through the university. Where did you hear about it and how do you know if it meets the requirement for Villanova?

I emailed the person who emailed me about my outstanding prerequisites after I was accepted, and she told me that the Portage Learning patho class would be accepted. It is so much cheaper than Villanova as well... $600 vs over $2000.

I'll make sure to share anything I learn about housing from the dinner on Tuesday on this thread. I was planning on taking the patho course online through Villanova, though now I'm tempted to use Portage ! Thanks for sharing the cost of both!

Hey guys. I was accepted into Villanova’s BSN Express program for Spring 2023 and will be taking Pathophysiology online in the Spring through the school. So excited to meet you all!

A quick update: I went to the admitted student's event last week and it was nice! The campus is gorgeous! We got a chance to do a tour of the facilities and chat with the program director as well as students (one that was in the middle of the ABSN and someone who just graduated in August).

Housing was discussed briefly and they explained that Villanova's Student Life helps with on and off-campus housing; there is no housing specifically for the BSN students. Many live off campus. They said that if you reach out to Student Life they can suggest places to live and can match you with similar students as roommates/housemates (on or off campus).

We were also strongly encouraged to take the Pathophysiology class offered online at Villanova, for what it's worth. Apparently the professor is amazing and a lot of other classes in the program are built on the knowledge from that class.

Hello everyone! I have my interview on Monday and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what was asked during the interview. I would like to go in prepared.

Hi guys! I was admitted recently and I decided to attend! Do yall have any group chat? I would love to connect with yall!! XD
