Though some of you would be interested in this. It concerns an RN and the HepB vaccine and MS.

bumping this up for someone who was asking me about it

So this woman began experiencing neuro issues in 1982, then received the Hep B vaccine in 1992? If the Hep B vaccine caused the MS, then I'm missing something.

This is a report form from special master who agrees that pt shows medical evidence linking Vaccine to MS. I suspect this is not the final court decision in this matter.

From this case report:

Hep B administered Nov 11 and Dec 16th 1992

Pg 3: states saw Neurologist Dr Hoyer Jan 1993, l body and leg numbness... pg 4 states during this visit reported over past 10 years or so prior vision disturbances with partial loss of vision to one side, associated with dull headaches.

Pg 12 states MS began in 82...well before Hep B vaccine.

Patients visual symptoms NOT part of healthy individual and often occur prior to limb numbness in patients with MS (various types). Vaccine may have exacerbated symptoms...or possible work stress as RN could do that.

Another thing that bothers me is why the delay in releasing medical records after filing case????

Since symptomatic prior to receiving vaccine, really can not see this vaccine CAUSING illness. Expect another court hearing and case being overturned.

Having a MIL with MS and observing her over 20 years along with caring other MS patients given me keen insight into illness. Also developed expertise in administering IV treatments for disease in my career. That's $1,000 for my expert fee.

So she WAS having symptoms prior to the vaccine? I have not read through the whole thing (it is rather long....but I'm going to go read it now), someone else had sent it to me and I posted it over here wanting feedback since it would concern us RN's in the matter of HepB vaccine and MS, neither of which I am an expert in but ovioulsy there is a lot of controvery about this vaccine at present. I am honest in the fact that it does scare me and worry me.

I dont get why they awared her or found the vaccine at fault then or am I reading all the incorrectly??? Do they think the HepB vax maybe made her symtoms worse or something? I guess I am confused.

Anyone else have insight into this?? NRSKarenRn thanks for you input, you seem to know a lot about this.

Just a question but I was thinking, was there a different type of HepB vaccine back when this RN was vaccinated??? Probably not but I was just curious.

This is a good example of why we need tort reform. Since vaccination policy is set to promote health in the nation, and vaccinations are approved after passing government mandated testing, maybe the government should pay the awards.

I think she already had MS and this caused an exascerbation. They knew that she had problems, but things changed, I think the settlement would have been much higher if the vaccine had actually causedher problem.

According to the CDC, hundreds of millions have been vaccinated without developing MS. The causal relationship is tenuous at best. But what the heck. Why not let the government pay for any illness that is diagnosed or worsened after an approved vaccination. It would save time and money on lawsuits and prevent unforseen vaccine complications from driving our vaccine producers offshore or out of business.
