The VHA National RN Residency Program is a 12 month residency program whose core curriculum was developed at VA Long Beach Healthcare System. It is considered a "Best Practice" model for the VA nationwide. This program will provide you with a supportive network of senior nurses, preceptors and mentors to help enhance your clinical experiences. Beyond a one-on-one extensive clinical experience with a preceptor, this unique residency offers, didactic with simulation experiences, and leadership development.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must pass pre-employment examination
  • Designated and/or random

  • Background and/or security investigation required
  • Graduate from NLN or CCNE accredited program
  • Less than 1 year experience as an RN
  • No license required at time of application; however, applicant needs to receive a RN license within 3 months of hire
  • VALOR experience preferred
  • Must be proficient in spoken and written English

I wish I lived in Cali. I did their VALOR program and loved it. Now I'm just applying for positions at the VA (I did my residency in Puerto Rico but moved to FL) but it just take SOOO long!! lol Anyways great opportunity guys!
