Just curious who all applied for the Health Professionals Scholarship Program for the VA this year (2018). I know it's early...mine is still shown as "received." Also, if any current or previous applicant/recipient can share their thoughts on this scholarship program of the VA as information on this is limited.

Hi Nana!

I applied and received the scholarship for 2017. What questions do you have? I'm happy to help. I believe there were around 1200 applicants and 48 awards given, with 12 or so being RN (BSN) scholarships. It's competitive, but you have a great shot if you're grades are excellent and your essays are on point (I assume!).

Basically just wait....and wait :) Not a whole lot to do until you get the answer. I *think* I found out in June or July of last year.

Hello! I applied last year and I'm applying again. I feel stupid to ask this but, we can submit everything online right? Even though the academic verification and recommendations have addresses at the top? also, do you guys do a "questionnaire". it's not in the required docs but it talks about it in the job announcement and I can't find out how to fill it out anywhere!!

Hey there! Yes, I believe I scanned the required documents and uploaded them into the online application. I think the "questionnaire" is kind of embedded in one of the other forms. Hope that helps!

Hi! I was just notified yesterday that I was selected!!! I am so excited, however I have a question that hopefully someone may be able to answer. I am 6 months into my 16 month program, and have taken out student loans for my first two semesters. Does the scholarship pay out my entire tuition cost of the program or only my last two semesters?

Congrats!! Unfortunately the program does not do any backpay...or at least they didn't for our cohort. Still, a great deal and awesome opportunity! Best of luck!
