Very Discouraged

Published

Hello all. I took 3 weeks to study for the NCLEX-PN. I paid for an online class as well as using Saunders. I felt really prepared when I went this week to take the exam. I was in tears afterwards! I didn't know 90% of the questions! They were SO hard! I guessed at most of them. The computer shut off at 85. I am just really discouraged. I am a single mom (and in my 40's), and I have invested so much thus far. How incredibly disappointed I am in how I did. How can you possibly know everything? You can't! I couldn't even break the questions apart to come to an answer ("pick the two that are similar but dissimilar", etc.). Just wanted to vent. Good luck to all those yet to take it!

like the other posters stated, it is normal to feel down when you leave the nclex testing center. think positively!!!

Well, you forgot us. If you passed, congratulations! If you didn't, just brush off and get started on prepping for the next time. Hope you got good news and you're still celebrating!

I just wanted to thank all of you for the encouragement I received during the "waiting" period! I passed and went to work (got the first job I interviewed for!). I love my job immensely!

Thanks again! Good luck to everyone going up for the exam....:yeah:

I felt the EXACT same way you did. I had studied my butt off and really felt prepared. I guessed at the majority of the dang questions; most of them didn't pertain to what I had studied; forget being able to pick it apart. Most of them you had to know it or you were out of luck. I tried the ABCs and most of the questions weren't the kind that were helped by that. I walked out so discouraged but found out today that I passed as well. I'm going to type up a new resume this weekend and start looking on Monday. Glad you are happy with your job. Makes it all worth it doesn't it?
