Hi everyone:redbeathe;
I will be taking the nclex in a month, and I have been doing nclex questions since the end of May including Kaplan, and I am so frustrated because my grades have not improved one bit. My dx test was a 60%, and ever since it has been down hill for me. Almost every test in the trainer and Qbank have been 54-59 range. I can NEVER get anything above 60 much less a 65. It is a struggle for me to get 75 on Lippincott, and even when I am doing Saunders/NClex 3500, the exam seem easy/manageable but I always end up with a 68%-75% range, mostly high 60s. I have so many resources and have no idea how to utilize them content wise, to prepare in 4 weeks:lol2:. I am beginning to panic and every low score I get is like a knife. I know you are supposed to focus on doing questions and reading rationals but I have been doing that for so long now and the information is obviously not clicking because as soon as I break for 3 days, I forget the rationals it seems. The exact same thing happens when I read content; I forget everything I read as soon as I start answering a new style of questions. I am terrified of pharm:devil:. I truly believe I am doing the best I can but for the effort I am putting in, the grades suck.
For the people who pass nclex with kaplan scores similar to mine, can you give me some advice as what I need to do to get motivated/ I need some help to create a plan for the next 4 weeks. Thanks so much for listening.
The questions to me, were very similar to Nclex 4000 but then again, that is coming from the fact that I did Kaplan review; 100% of the qbank and trainers and because I was trained to answer such difficult high level Kaplan questions, I fnd the actual Nclex test so much easier.
In my personal opinion and others as well, the questions were staight forward, like Nclex 4000 but I am not sure if the fact that I practice very hard questions contributed to the way I feel about the test. Maybe someone else who did ONLY Nclex 4000 questions in preparation for the test, would be in a better position to answer your question. Good luck to you on your test. I feel confident based on the fact that you have done almost all the questions Nclex 4000 questions, that you could pass. Make sure you calm your nerve and read the questions through CAREFULLY.
To mystic33...I also have been doing NCLEX 4000. So you think that the NCLEX questions were similar to those questions?? I hope so because I have done almost all of those questions on the CD and I really like them. I personally think that some of them are pretty easy. Please let me know. Thanks in advance.
I cannot understand why they would fail someone because they are slow??? I can understand that if you are too slow you can run out of time.
I am currently taking a content review course and I must say that it is the best out there...Hurst Review.. If you know your content well you should be good.I took the NCLEX the first time and failed. Marlene has really helped me to see why I failed on my first try!
Don't be discouraged. If I can be on any assistance feel free send me a message.
thank you so much. I am nervous about taking it.
don't be nervous. You willl be fine, just keep studying and answering questions.
im taking my test on the 27th this month and ive been getting under 60% as well on qbank. Im very scared i feel like im not ready for it. This is my second time testing.
you will never feel prepared. I was panicking at how much i didn't know the night before the exam. In the end, it all worked out. Maybe there is definitely a formula to doing many questions and passing the exam because i truly didn't feel 100% prepared but, but i did a lot of questions and in the end, it worked out because i passed.

2 weeks before my exam, even after doing a lot of questions, i still didn't feel comfortable content wise and when i began to panic, i signed up for hurst review. Its expensive but i wanted to give the test everything i got and in the end, it was all good. Hurst, & kaplan helped me alot in the exam.
