Yeah I've learned the hard way that I can't vent around non medical people. You make one "pillow therapy" joke and they act horrified, but then they sit there and whine about their coworkers and customers. But then a snotty pre-nursing student comes on a venting thread saying that if you don't like people who whine you should have picked a different job...really? Pre-nursing student and you're telling me how I should be a nurse? That's hilarious!!
Why, didn't you know that to be a nurse is to be longsuffering, patient, kind, caring, accepting, forgiving, non-judgemental, eager for approval, never disappointed, completely understanding and and and, oh wait, that's my dog.
Lol!
Did you mean saint-like martyr?

Peeing, eating and getting paid are only for non-dedicated and non-compassionate losers!
All my friends are teachers and are constantly complaining about it. I just wanna scream at them. They have weekends, holidays, and snow days off..oh not mention those three months for summer. Nurses are lucky if they get one holiday off a year!
All of my friends are teachers too and do the same thing!!!!! I'm in school and work as a PCA and I'm like really? Ahhhhhh!!

Why is it that every other profession in the world can vent about the people they deal with, but the minute a nurse does, we are looked down upon? Do people think that the jerks they deal with at their job suddenly become more tolerable once they are sick and in the hospital? This is probably one of the most frustrating things in nursing. I hate it when people tell me that since I don't seem to like people I shouldn't be a nurse. Especially when it's on a nursing board. Okay, vent over. I am glad that this place exsists so I can vent to like minded people about the frustrations that come with the job.
