VEEB LPN Program (info request)

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi All,

I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.

What are the Teachers like?

What are the required books?

Is the program as intense as they say?

Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?

Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?

Do they provide job Placement at the end???

Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!

I agree we're going to have to stay focused. Even online we can help each other out. Study, study, study, is indeed the best way for all of us to even have a fair shot at Helen Fuld , as well.

We might not be in the same Group A/B, but we are surely going to get the same materials. Keep motivated and connected. We might just be each others greatest help.

AS FOR THE INSIDE INFO.....(singing) "I'LL NEVER TELL...". :smiley_ab

Besides, one must not give up their sources. :banghead: It'll ruinned it for the rest of us!LOL!! And we just might have too...... And I don't think you would want that..would you...:sofahider. LOL

**Oh...and Pink...what's best about this is...its straight from the horses mouth. LOL!!! :yeah:

Your absolutely right about staying connected, especially since the three of us are aiming for the same GOAL (HF)! If were lucking maybe we'll be in the same group and can form a study group! Based on Trini's posts that's the best way to maintain that coveted 85!

As far as the "Source" goes..... As long as the Horse keeps talking, I don't need to know it's NAME! LOL! Keep the Info coming!

Look forward to meeting you and Akanni at Orientation! I can't wait to get started on this new journey! It's going to be tough but the rewards will be abundant!

That refresher course is bogus. They have a bridge program for the people who either failed one part of the entrance test or past with very low marks. Yes they do learn information that is used in the first semester but they pay 450.00 for it. Do you rather pay 450.00 or pay 0.

I found my modules for the first semester so get your pens and paper and i'll tell you what to study!

In Anatomy:

1. Know the definition of Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathology.

2. Know the 5 levels of organization in the body (Its chemical, cell, tissue, organ, then the system(meaning the whole body)).

3. Know your body systems( Integumentary, Skeletal, Muscular, Nervous, Sensory, Endocrine, Cardiovascular, Lymphatic, Respiratory, Digestive, Urinary and Reproductive)

4. Get the definition if metabolism, catabolism , and anabolism.

5. Know your directional terms (Superior, Inferior, Ventral, Dorsal, Medial, Lateral, Proximal, Distal, etc)

6. Know your body planes (Sagittal, Mid Sagittal, Frontal, and Transverse)

7. Know your body cavity ( Dorsal and Ventral Cavity )

8. Know the regions in the abdominal cavity ( Epigastric, Umbilical, Hypogastric, Right and Left Hypogastric, Right and Left Lumbar, Right and Left iliac) and also know what organs are in each region.

Thats what your first test is on!

Hey Trini!

Thanks for the info! Wow... That is a lot for the first test! :smackingf I see this is going to be a very looooong 11 months! :banghead:

Thanks Trini...I know...but Idon't think they had a chose in the matter. The school informed them that this remedial course was 450; and if your willing to get into your profession you'll follow oders. I thought the same way...why $450. It ridiculous to me. They should not have to pay to retake an exam. From judging the way I'm hearing it..They won't take the same exam we took, but what they covered the 2weeks. Funny!

Thanks Trini...for the 1st semester. Module. We ( I speak for everyone) really appreciate it.

Trini.........you are holding down your classes and still have time to give us the scoop. THANKS GIRL!!!

The entrance test they give is to see if you have a 9th grade math and 12th grade english or vice versa. I dont think its fair that they have to pay the 450 but some people lie about it. They should say that they didn't pass with high marks so they have to do the bridge program (which is why their paying the 450). They shouldn't make it seem like they have an advantage because honestly its not true.

At the end of th bridge program they have to take another test (which is harder that the first) and if they dont pass with a 80 their not getting in the program.

No one is ahead of the other person, even Cna's in the program. We all have to learn together, you'll be surprised to know how much Cna's and people who took the bridge failed out, its not even funny.

And for those Cna's starting the program, never act like you know everything because they will call you out to demonstrate and if you mess up they will let you here it. If you know certain information help your peers and dont keep it to yourself because nursing is a team work and we should all work together.

You are right ...it is team work!

I'll let you know what materials they are covering...According to the instructor who's teaching this remedial or Bridge program. She is surely indicating how much of an advantage they are in....Not cool! :nono:

And if they are indeed learning some things we aren't that pertain to the material for the semester. Then I would think they would be at an advantage. Well... too each its own!

Thanks Trini...I'm trying to keep this forum up so we can gather enough info from each other as possible. Once more thanks a million!

The module is just for Anatomy?? Correct??

so it's safe to assume most don't get in...

if someone already had a problem passing the first test. why take their $$$ just to in turn give them a harder test and require them to pass with a higher score?????? sounds more like a scam than anything else!

It is a scam. If they don't pass they will give them back $800 of $1000 from their deposit. Not to mention the 450 they had alreay given for the remedial.. Correct me if I'm wrong?

OMG... I didn't know they had to make the deposit too! WOW and they still KEEP the $200!

What confuses me is, that they have some people that did pass on a waiting list. If you look a couple of pages back there is a post from a woman that passed and is still waiting for an acceptance letter!

It's obvious this "remedial" course is a Cash Cow for them... They know it's not going to be easy for people that didn't do well on the first test to score an 80 on an even harder test! Meanwhile, others that actually did pass are sitting by the mailbox awaiting an acceptance letter!

Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum. I will be attending veeb in the fall with two of my girlfriends. I wanted to know any advice that you can give us. Reading these entries are nerve racking and I did not even start the program. Does anyone have any advice? :uhoh3::uhoh3::uhoh3::uhoh3::uhoh3::uhoh3:
