Hi All,
I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.
What are the Teachers like?
What are the required books?
Is the program as intense as they say?
Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?
Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?
Do they provide job Placement at the end???
Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!
If a great number of people pass the exam, how does VEEB choose who will start the program in September? Do they choose the candidates with the top scores? or who can make the first tuition payment?
They claim its first come first serve but I don't know ... but I do know they are still testing because my friend called today and theytold her what to bring in ect ...
Hello,
To those who are alums of the VEEB LPN program, what were the hospitals you did your clinical rotation at? Did clinicals also take place in nursing homes?
Secondly, regarding references, are they supposed to be professional references (work, previous school) or could they be personal too (friends)?
TIA,
AFQN
Hi .... I was just wondering did you have to hand in the refrences ? .....because on the paper it said we would have an interview on the test day but I didn't know handing in your documents and saying goodmorning was the interview ... lol .....
Wow, just seeing this. We handed in our references and actually had a REAL interview in 2007. However, I was told my class was the last class to be "INTERVIEWED." Now all that matters is passing the exam. Veeb has always been "first come, first serve," so pay your deposit right away. We started with 206 students and graduated 175/6 in 2008.
ALL THE BEST!

Thank you Akanini going through the threads I am so much more informative about veebs because of you and a couple of other people and I thank you. I guess VEEBS is just changing with the economy. As far as the drop out rate goes it is not as bad as other schools so that makes me feel more positive about the teachers and the after school tutoring.
VEEB wants their students to pass TRUST ME! We were babied--spoonfed----whatever you want to call it. However, we had GREAT teachers at that time that were VERY intelligent and knew their stuff.
Exactly, its in their best interest you pass. If you drop early, that's lost tuition in the future. The tests come straight from lectures. The people who ended up dropping usually didn't care, not because of material itself.
I definitely love the instructors, they definitely gear you to go beyond LPN. Be open to learning and criticism and your foundation will be solid come August.
And one area I found a bit lacking in VEEB was the skills teaching in the classroom. Definitely read up on each skill and check them out on youtube or something. Then in clinical ask to perform those skills.
Good Luck!
