VEEB LPN Program (info request)

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi All,

I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.

What are the Teachers like?

What are the required books?

Is the program as intense as they say?

Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?

Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?

Do they provide job Placement at the end???

Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!

hi i am new here and will be taking my veeb test next week. does the reading consist of reading passages and then answering questions about what you have read? does the math have story problems? i heard it has decimals and percentages. i am trying to study and feeling overwhelmed because i am not sure of how much i need to brush up on :confused::confused:

hi, i took my test feb 8th, and the math was mostly fractions, decimals, and percentage.....reading was read a passage then answer, and vocabulary went from easy words to hard ones....they dont give u alot of time so u gotta work quick...

to all of you that are waiting for your tests results, be patient. i know that is hard to do because i was once in your shoes. just wanted to let you know that school was closed a couple of times due to the snow storms we had, so that would set them back a little in grading tests. i wish you all well and be prepared to work like you can't imagine.

oh ok, makes sense, cuz im like its been over a month already, anxiously crossing my fingers:clown:

hello sweetness07,

i have been following the guidline that veeb gave us when we picked up our applications. it should be with the package information you got. i will be testing on the 17th.....when is your test date? hope i do well. i've been studying everday for the test.....good luck!:)

hi glady17, thanks for your reply. i looked through my materials realized the guide answered some of my questions after i had already submitted my post. my test is the 16th. i bought a ged book for dummies to use to study and i don't like it. what have you been using?

hello, thanks for the heads up. i have been concerned about not having enough time. thanks for the info on what's on the test. good luck to you...you should be getting your results any day now.

i bought a ged book from barnes and nobles. either one you choose is good enough. i bought the kaplan one. it has been helping me. hope this helps. i just called the school to see if they are still taking applications, and they still are. i dont understand how they keep testing. i'm sure there has been over 200 students already that have tested. does this mean that if we pass the test, do we go on a waiting list. just wonder how they come up with the 200 students. i really dont want to waste $200 for a test that i am not guaranteed to get in even if i pass!!!!

$200 × 50 (# of people tested per day) = roughly about ONLY $10,000 PER DAY!!! LOL If I were them, I'll still be testing too! Hahaha. Testing=easy money-maker.

Wow thats so true. I never thought of it like that. Thats alot of money

So then I guess it's not even really worth taking the pre-entrance exam, because they probably won't even bother accepting us. I wonder what I should do. I don't want to waste $200 so they can tell me I'm not even getting in.....EVEN IF I PASS!!!!!!

Does anybody know if anyone has gotten an acceptance letter for this fall Sep. 2010?

Glady I think u should still go for it! U never know what will happen. Some people may not pass the exam, others may not have the deposit or fail the drug test. I say do it, it'll kill u later on to wonder if u could have made it in or not!

As far as results, I just took my exam last week Tuesday and we were told to expect our results "well past April" (whatever that means...LOL). I guess it takes about a month n a half....so those who were the first to test should be getting their results anyday now! After that I think they send u for an interview (not sure if they still interview) and then physical (drug test). Once you've done all that, including the Letters of Reference as well as the $2,000 deposit, u'll receive a letter stating if u were accepted or not. Good luck to u. Pray for me and I'll be praying for u too. VEEB FALL 2010 HERE WE COME (hopefully)! Haha.

you are correct on the reading, and the key to timing is don't read the passage only answer the questions, so skim the answers and look for them in the passage. the math has fractions, integers, decimals, percents, mixed numbers as well as i can remember.

some people don't pass the test, some people get excepted and then don't enroll, some people enroll and within the first two weeks realize they can't do it, so there are a lot of factors to include why they test so many people.
