VEEB LPN Program (info request)

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi All,

I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.

What are the Teachers like?

What are the required books?

Is the program as intense as they say?

Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?

Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?

Do they provide job Placement at the end???

Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!

That is something you will have to decide, but just to let you know it will not be a waste of 200.00. This is what you want to do so go for it. You will never know if you would have gotten excepted if you don't take the entrance exam. I am a current student and we all had to face the fact that we might not get excepted, but we wanted it so we had to pay the money, and look I'm in. So don't think like that you are possibly on your way to becoming a nurse!

So then I guess it's not even really worth taking the pre-entrance exam, because they probably won't even bother accepting us. I wonder what I should do. I don't want to waste $200 so they can tell me I'm not even getting in.....EVEN IF I PASS!!!!!!
you are correct on the reading, and the key to timing is don't read the passage only answer the questions, so skim the answers and look for them in the passage. the math has fractions, integers, decimals, percents, mixed numbers as well as i can remember.

how hard are the passages? i have been "skimming" answers in passages and timing myself, and doing poorly. because i am not reading the passage, i don't get the jist of what i am reading to answer some of the questions correctly. i hope the answers to the passages are easier than the ones i have been studying. my test is tuesday the 16th, i am ok with being put on a waiting list...at least i know i got in. i am worried that i will pay the $200 and not pass! how did i get a high school diploma and college degree but i can't get a ged???? i am sooooo stressed about this test:crying2::crying2::crying2:

and then there is the math...

i know a former veeb student that took her pre-entrance exam late in the game, like march or april (a couple of years ago) and she still got in. i definitley think it's worth it to take it. you sound prepared, so you will hopefully pass. from reading these threads, i have read that the woman who grades the test is a month behind. i wonder why somebody can't help her? having to wait more than a couple of weeks is too long!

Thank you sweetness07, praise2u, and littlenursegoal. I really appreciate your encouragement. It really has totally changed my mindset thanks to you guys. You guys are defintely right. It's not that I am a negative person, it's just that I can't fight the number game.....(1,000 applicants vs. 200 acceptances)....you know what I mean. But I have still continued to study and I do plan on still taking the test because I want to be a nurse so badly. It has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. It never crossed my mind that there are people who might back out of the program , or that they can't come up with the money. I guess since I know I can come up with the money and I would defintely NOT back out, I figured everyone else is thinking the same way. Thank you guys so much for giving me hope. I wish you guys all the best and I hope that you guys get accepted......hey you never know....maybe we will all be future classmates.....Cant wait to see!!!!! Good luck guys!!!!!

I'm trying to study for the reading part of the test and I wanted to know if anyone has taken it.....is it easy or hard? Thanks.

$200 × 50 (# of people tested per day) = roughly about ONLY $10,000 PER DAY!!! LOL If I were them, I'll still be testing too! Hahaha. Testing=easy money-maker.

One thing you will learn is that VEEB is very money hungry! Just one of the many things we have to deal with at VEEB, but the bottom line is we deal with it because we want our Nursing Degree's. They probably know this, and take advantage of us, but oh well.

Good luck everyone, I hope you get your (POSITIVE) results fast! They said the same thing last year ( I am a current student) about "being a month behind in grading". The bottom line is you will get your results when you get them. It seems like there is no rhyme or reason to the way they do things. All that being said, I will say that VEEB is an EXCELLENT school, I have learned SO MUCH in such a short period of time. Its a full time job, but its well worth it. If you look about 50 pages back in this thread you will see all of us from last year anxiously awaiting our results, It might make you feel better to see we all went thru what youre going through now!

I was told that I should expect to be at the school for 5 hours during the testing day. Can you share with those who have not taken the test what the day is like. How long is the actual test and if it doesn't take up that entire 5 hours she quoted me what happens during the rest of the time we are there? Also I see people have noted that the time allowances are tough. How long approx were the math and english parts each? Thanks

when is ur test date? It depends, most likely not the whole 5 hours! Ur expected to be the by 8:30am for registration, and I'll say we started the test like 9:30a/10am and were out by like 12:30pm. Good luck and let us know how it turned out! :-)

I was just curious.....is the math portion of the test multiple choice??? Thanks for your help.

I took my pre-entrance exam this morning....and I felt like I did well. Does anyone happen to know how they grade you. They had the test broken up into three different parts......vocabulary, comprehension and math....do they grade seperately or all together. I would really appreciate if anyone could help me....thanks.

Did anyone get their results yet??? Just curious! :-\

Hi Littlenurse goal,

I didn't get my results back because I only took the test 2 days ago, so I assume that I will be waiting a long time. When did you take your test? Do you think you did well?
