VEEB LPN Program (info request)

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi All,

I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.

What are the Teachers like?

What are the required books?

Is the program as intense as they say?

Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?

Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?

Do they provide job Placement at the end???

Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!

Veeb requires a high school diploma or Ged to sit for the entrance exam, age doesn't matter as long as u are over 18, the entrance exam consists of math, reading and writing and it's timed, if u look through previous pages on this thread u will see a lot of helpful info about the entrance exam, GoodLuck!

Veeb takes 11 months to complete..

Does anyone know if its possible to take the entrance exam without having your highschool diploma yet. I live in the queens area and VEEB says i need my diploma in hand this january to take the entrance exam. When i ask other schools they say its no problem. In laguardia they said if i took the math and english regents theres no need for me to take the entrance exam but there like VEEB takes more than a year to complete. In the city they said i need to be 21. I am confused!!! Anyone know any schools that offer LPN classes so i can get my certificate by the end of next year where i can take my entrance exam without needing my diploma in hand and i dont have to be older than 21?

22sexi4u, When will u have your GED? Because since you're 21, HS Diploma is OUT. NY state will not license you without it. Veeb is 11 months. Sept-Aug.

It doesn't say anything about her being 21. She says the city told her she needs to be 21. I met a girl the other day who was going for nursing through Boces and she was still in high school. You might want to check that out. Although it might have had something to do with her being a teen mother and was some special vocational program. I also don't know if she'll be able to take the license exam once she finishes high school or will need to continue for further studies. Either way, look into it and i wish i'd had the option in high school.

I am a high school student who is graduating this June. I never said anything about being 21 i said the program in the city said i had to be 21. I Dont know anymore schools that i can call to ask if i can take my LPN classes so i will get my certificate before i start college in september of 2011. Any advice on what i should do about VEEB? Or to call any other school to attend? Last time i talked to the women from VEEB she said age doesent matter. Its too late to take BOCES because i would have to be in high school in the beginnig of the year. Thank you Yolettie3469 for noticing what i said.

veeb has a financial advisor on site, who did pretty much everything for us, we first did the fafsa and submitted the sar with our 1040, which tells you pretty much if you qualify for free aid, or will have to pay all or a percentage out of pocket. if you go through veeb once you submit the paper work, the finance dept does pretty much everything for you. i believe the max loan is 7,700. the rest you will have to pay yourself.

thanks praise2u :) ahmmnn.. i've one more question. i called veeb today and i asked them until when the applications would be available but the lady said until the class is full and she doesn't know when. do you have an idea when they run out of application forms? coz i wont be having my requirements completed until next week. thanks again :yeah:

2sexi4u, I'm sorry I misunderstood your post.lolol...Veeb is strict about that HS school and I'm so sorry it's true they won't look at you without the diploma.

what requirements are you talking about? if i was you i would at least get the application asap, because the school is somewhat on a first come first served basis.
