VEEB LPN Program (info request)

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi All,

I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.

What are the Teachers like?

What are the required books?

Is the program as intense as they say?

Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?

Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?

Do they provide job Placement at the end???

Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!

I must say I'm not excited at all about starting school again. Sometimes I wonder if I REALLY want to do this. I wish the RN would magically appear behind my name like my dear friend said. But I guess it will be all worth it in the end.

Akanini, do you think HF is harder than VEEB, or they are the same?

ANY RN program is harder than a LPN program.

ANY RN program is harder than a LPN program.

Obviously, I should already know that. Goshh I am stupid.

I Love you guys, i need to know more information about Veeb, when are they testing and how much does the exam cost ? Can i apply for some scholarships exc, Financial aid? How much is tuition and what does Tuition cover? When is the start date and end date of the LPN classs? what time does the school start and what time does it end? I know its from Sept-Aug. When do clinicals start and where do we take them? what coorifices do we cover in school? What is the passing rate in Veeb, i know some schools are 80 and 85's. i think someone told me in Veeb you need a minimum of 70 to pass a class. Does the school have parking?

Please answer this questions , im looking forward the joining all for 2010-2011 school year

Thank you so much.

I also read that they will now be a 4year school..did u hear that also? Did you take advantage of the articulation program or did a normal application process?

The 4 year school will take a while. It's not in effect yet...I did the normal application process.

Here is the link to VEEB's web page.http://www.veeb.org/LPN_admission_requirements.php You can get most of the info there. Whatever isn't there you can call the admissions office and they will help you out. The testing is normally starts towards the beginning of February ( I believe). Start date of each class is determined by the school. I don't think they have released the info for next years start date. School is from 8am- 1pm. There is parking on the school grounds. Clinicals start like the 5th or 6th week in and they are located all over Nassau County. Passing grade is 70. Tuition covers just that, your tuition. Books, uniforms etc are additional cost.

WOW.....I haven't been on in a while...so much information I have gained from you guys. I'm happy I passed my midterms but still want to work harder. I can't understand why are they splitting us up again for the second section. And why would they just call you and say "don't come to take the final....or don't come for the second section". I think thats a bit rude.

Also...congrats to all who passed there boards. Thanks for all of the information. It is always helpful.

What do you mean? Did i miss something?

If you are on BORDERLINE, VEEB will call you to come in and you will be counseled on what score you need on the final to make the 70%. From what I've heard, Veeb will call you AFTER the final to come in if you didn't pass the semester. So obviously with that, you won't go to 2nd semester. Your sections will stay the same each semester, but your clincal groups will change (which is a good thing, trust me).
