VEEB LPN Program (info request)

Hi All,

I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.

What are the Teachers like?

What are the required books?

Is the program as intense as they say?

Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?

Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?

Do they provide job Placement at the end???

Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!

Anybody in class c section 1 ???

hahaha..this is all too funny...im the one who has to move my feet everytime you want to leave the room..well we didnt do much for clinicals this week..we had monday off.. tuesday we did flu shots...yesterday we had part orientation cuz we couldnt get the videos.....and today we finished the videos...tomorrow is lecture so we really didnt do anything this whole week.. im not really anxious bedbaths.. im more anxious to do wound dressings and passing meds if they let us....how was the midterms. i dont even wanna pick up my grades.....it scares me...i know i did good in fundamentals, scie.found., and pharm.. human develop always kills me like everyone else....well good luck to all that is taking midterms tomorrow for human dev. and pharm...im gonna drop by the school tomorrow to pick up my grades after clinical......see yah there

hahaha...oh okay youre THAT guy in the back...i remember...yeah human development midterm was pissin me off the whole entire time i was sitting there...i know that i didnt do too well on that midterm. im confident about everything else. bed bath wasnt all that bad..you just get to see how poorly those CNAs take care of the residents. we didnt get to do injections yet...im pretty excited for those. i dont want to know what my grades are neither...its gonna have me go through an anxiety attack or something.

so hopefully all of us re-unite again...lmao....whoever is seperated for group one and two wont see each other until graduation...lmao...crazy stuff...

Grindin,BE16..Since you graduated im pretty sure you will go on to get your Rn..will you be using any of the school Veeb recommended? Helen F, Nassau CC,Molloy, or Adelphi?

Veeb class of 2008 graduate here....I'm just letting you guys know right now....Helene Fuld seems to be the most direct way right now if you have NO college credits. Nassau is great if you have THEIR pre reqs. Molloy LOVES Veeb grads but it takes sooooo long and soooo expensive. This is after EXTENSIVE research! Best of luck to all. Make it through VEEB first.

Akanini, I would like to tell you Thank you for all your input. I might even say, You are part of my succeed in VEEB. I pass my board the first try. I did not have any group study. Everything was all by myself. It was hard. However, I hang it there until i make it through.

Akanini what about Adelphi..isnt that one of the school that veebs deal with directly?

BE16 was it hard for u to transfer your "veeb credits" over to farmingdale??

VEEB credits, don't actually transfer anywhere. They just have agreements with certain schools to be articulated into their respective programs, if you meet certain requirements.

My advice to you is to go to the schools, you're thinking about and dealing with them directly so they can advise you appropriately as to your situation. I asked the counselor last spring, about the RN schools and she said hang tight, the 4 will come at the end of the year.

Then the last week of school, we were told they couldnt accommodate any of the schools anymore, then suddenly a bulletin is posted w/o notice at 1PM one day saying stay put for Helene Fuld and Nassau CC. Lets just say not everyone saw the notice.

No credits transfer from Veeb to any college because Veeb is vocational.

Thanks Be16 and Akanini very helpful...SO to make sure I got it..there are ONLY 4 schools that veeb articulates with Molloy,Adelphi,NCC, and HF...any OTHER school we choose to attend would be attending a regular rn 2yr or 4yr program with out the advancement correct?

Akanini I have heard a lot of good thing about HF from what I gathered from their website they seem to be similar to veeb BUT harder...I also read that they will now be a 4year school..did u hear that also? Did you take advantage of the articulation program or did a normal application process?

The 4 year school will take a while. It's not in effect yet...I did the normal application process.

I think you are getting HF confused with the one in Blackwood, NJ........this one is starting the 4 year college.
