VDAP Testing Cost Heads Up

I partipate in VDAP and had not been tested since early March due to COVID-19. Selected for testing today- Hair- at a cost of 176.00 plus collection fee. Just a "heads up" for other VDAP nurses since it is a significant amount of money in one hit. I expect Alabama nurses in monitoring or VDAP will be tested aggressively this month.

Wowza, that is some serious money to put out. Especially now, when families may have one or both people not working/reduced hours.

I’d kill for a hair collection to be that cheap! In Tnpap it’s $250 plus the site fee. ?

The pricing inconsistency is crazy. I hope you are not hair tested frequently... so expensive.

NJ here--$325 for hair test -_- ...they didn't decrease testing during the COVID surge--in fact, they increased it to 3 tests per month ranging between 75-125 dollars per test =( Can't wait to be finished in July!

WOW! I am in Arkansas. Five children. My husband and I both work. I am considering surrendering my license after 20 yrs due to cost. We r unable to pay fees and have a home. I think this is a way of pushing several of us out of program without them looking bad. I have failed one drug test in 20 yrs of nursing and now gonna b starting over. Almost enough to push someone to drugs I’m thinking
