Is anyone out there applying to VCU to start in Fall 2014? Have you been invited for an interview?

I am in! Starting Fall 2014. Missnurse, I saw your posts from last year about where to live, parking, etc. Did your class ever make a private group with this valuable information? I am moving there from Texas with three kids so I am already looking at good neighborhoods and whatnot- so much to think about! I know nothing about the area.

hey again coffee! One of my fellow study buddies is from TX! We choose to live outside the city so kids could have a backyard and be able to ride bikes. We are south of the city in Chesterfield. There are posts here on allnurses from last year about where to live. I can give you general info depending on what you are looking for.

I found out Oct. 16th via phone call, then a few days later the official letter came. I'm from the Richmond area (live in North Chesterfield/Midlothian) and work at VCU Medical Center currently. I interviewed Sept. 12 in the morning group if anyone else that's heard was also in that group. That was the first day of interviews. If anyone is coming from a great distance I'd be happy to offer what help I can with information about the surrounding areas. A prior classmate of mine, Keaton, who got in for this Aug. put up a post a little while back about the city and places of note. I'm less familiar with the city, but if anyone wants to know about the area south then I'd be of more assistance. Anyways, looking forward to meeting my fellow classmates in a little less than a year!

Congrats to everyone who is in! Stay hopeful to all who are waiting. I am looking forward to meeting my new classmates. I am going to be in attending the Alexandria campus, Anyone else? The few times that I have been in Richmond I have loved it. Awesome city with great food! I was trying to think of a way to communicate with eachother other than this website. Anyone have any ideas? What about a private facebook group? It would be nice to get to know eachother.

Hi there! CardiacRN I also interviewed that day with the first interview group! I also heard back Oct 16!!!! Yay! Can't wait to be classmates! I work in the STICU! I def remember you! Congrats! Do you know much about financial aid? I know that we get a guaranteed 20,500 from federal loans but I am wondering about cost of living....will be doing this on my own! Yikes :)

Unsure, I interviewed on October 3rd, and got accepted on October 15th. I have two friends that interviewed on November 15th and both were accepted on the 18th. We all are in the Southwest cohort.
