  1. Thank you guys for your help- this is good stuff!
  2. Missnurse- I will PM you as soon as I have my 15 posts! I took grad level pathophysiology, gen chem, and the VCU medicinal chem course but I think the physiology book you recommended will be a good refresher. Also just downloaded evernote- I so appreciate your help.
  3. I will start CRNA school next fall at VCU. I am moving my family of five from Texas to Virginia- my kids are all young. Husband will work from home with a nanny to help with the kids during the day. So- for all of you who are currently in a program or working as a CRNA, what advice would you go back and give yourself pre-program, if you could? Any genuine advice is good, I appreciate it.
  4. Thank you so much- this is what I expected. My kids are very young so it will definitely be a challenge but my husband is amazing so at least I have him. What would you have done in the months before the program to prepare for the courses, if anything? I am finishing up a masters program now and I want to stay in "school mode" before the program starts. My O-chem is not very strong but I don't have time to take a whole course- what specifically would have been helpful for you to KNOW before school started? Thanks again- you have been a great resource for me in the last few months without even knowing it!
  5. Do you see your children missnurse? I keep hearing that I will not see them for the next three years- which makes me pretty sad. Do you have time for family dinner or a few hours on the weekend? I am okay with the time commitment, I just want to be fully prepared for what I am getting myself into. Oh, I will starting at VCU in the fall of next year. Woo hoo! Who did you contract through? That sounds like a great idea. What about paying for school? Does everyone just take out loans and grad plus loans? Is there any leeway on the in state/out of state tuition? I have 1,000,000 questions and I know you are busy- I appreciate your help!
  6. I am in! Starting Fall 2014. Missnurse, I saw your posts from last year about where to live, parking, etc. Did your class ever make a private group with this valuable information? I am moving there from Texas with three kids so I am already looking at good neighborhoods and whatnot- so much to think about! I know nothing about the area.
  7. No- I got an out of office when I emailed. I am thinking I will have to wait until November to find out.
  8. I interviewed a couple of weeks ago. They said early acceptance phone calls would be made by the end of this week for the people I interviewed with. Waiting is so incredibly hard.
