Members are discussing their acceptance into various nursing programs at Vanderbilt University, sharing their application timelines, GPA, and plans for clinical placements. They are also inquiring about scholarships, upcoming rounds of acceptances, and ways to connect with fellow students in the same program. Additionally, there is a mention of financial aid notifications and scholarships being emailed in the first week of May.
Hi! I wanted to start a forum for people applying to Vanderbilt's MSN program for a fall 2025 enrollment. Which program are people applying to & how much experience do you guys have?

After I confirmed that I selected OMTA, they informed me that my official acceptance letter will be sent out either this Friday or Monday! Good luck to all of you!!
Congratulations! 🎈🎊🎉🍾

Yay!! Congrats!

During the call I had switched my status to OMTA instead of MTA which then prompted the admissions team to let me know that I was accepted. They told me that they don't typically inform people over the phone but since they already had me on the line they wanted to congratulate me. I hope you guys find out very soon because the waiting game definitely sucks. I have my fingers crossed for all of you!!
emily ganem said:Im a little bit confused about this whole MTA vs OMTA. Are they talking about the first year or the second year in the actual NP Program. I applied as a non nurse so will still need to get my bsn during my first year
That's a good question. I only understand from the RN-MSN POV that the OMTA means "Out of Middle Tennessee Area" and MTA means within "Middle Tennessee Area". So if you're MTA, that means you either live, or will live there, to complete your clinicals.

I also applied as a non-nurse. For pre-specialty (non-nurses), it's required to be in TN for the first year of the program. After that, for the actual NP part of the program, you could choose to stay in TN (MTA) or go out of state/out of the area (OMTA). I selected MTA because I'd prefer not to have to find my own clinicals, but really, I'm open to either. I wish they'd had that as an option on the application.

I spoke to someone from the admissions office tomorrow and they said before Christmas so either tomorrow or Monday I'm assuming
