Vanderbilt PreSpecialty Fall 2022

Published

Hey, Im applying to the fall 2022 Pre-specialty MSN program and I just wanted to open up a topic since I hadn't seen one yet

Is anyone worried about being able to find a job after graduating? I keep seeing stuff about how the field of NPs is so saturated (albeit a lot form forums so they’re not always reliable) and it’s making me nervous that I’m making a terrible decision or something

Does anyone know what time of day they usually release decisions? Or if they're releasing the 14th/15th?

I’m not sure, but based off old threads it seems like after 5pm EST

I'm not...I really think that this statement is made without the least bit of true research or regard. If you look at job boards, you'll see that there are many jobs posted for NPs. Now in your particular area, especially if you reside in a larger city, with many MSN/DNP/NP programs this could be true. There could be fewer available jobs and more competition for the jobs. However, if you are willing to look out and relocate, I doubt that you will have a hard time finding a job. You may not get your ideal job right off the bat with no experience but you could always take something less ideal to build experience for a couple of years or work as an RN until you find what you're looking for. Be flexible and keep an open mind.

For the future nurse-midwives: Does anyone know if Vanderbilt allows you to do dual NM and WHNP?

I believe the only dual specialties offered are CNM/FNP and WHNP/AGPCNP.

Im feeling very anxious but also excited !!

Hi!! A couple questions-

Does anyone have any idea when emails might be send out during the third week? Also, I’m getting increasingly nervous about getting rejected, anyone know any admission statistics for the program?

I called them this morning and they said sometime in the next week- no specifics.

I’m not really sure since I couldn’t really find any admission statistics on line. This is the only thing I found from someone from an older thread who posted this and said they got it on an admitted students day or something
