Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Winter 2016

Published

Today's the day - applications are open! I've been looking forward to applying for this program since before I was in nursing school - I can't believe it's finally time to apply, and almost time to graduate! Join me as we go through the nail-biting process of trying to get hired by VUMC!

Same as you :/

Good luck to both of us!

I just wonder if anyone who interviewed for trauma has heard back any positive news? I'm just confused why some have gotten an email for that specific unit but others haven't... you would think they would email everyone who interviewed for the unit around the same time! Maybe I should also just be patient haha but I'm nervous

I was accepted to the acute progressive track! I'm so excited to start in February!

I received an offer for the surgical track (not what I interviewed for). I'm going to decline the offer and stay on the waitlist for CVICU. Pay for the surgical track was only 21.85... yikes

I almost want to say that $21.85/hr rate is across the board for all of the RN residency positions.... Unless someone who has an offer for anything else?

And don't forget there are also shift differentials! For me it is not about the money but the experience!

^I completely agree. What are the shift differentials? I didn't know they had any.

I emailed and asked.... she said that stuff gets sent out once acceptance letters are sent in. They are...

*Weekend differential-$6.00 per hour.

*Evening differential-$3.00 per hour. (between 3p-11p)

*Night shift differential- $3.50 per hour.(between 11p-7a)

I don't know if those vary depending on track

Hi! I just heard back about an hour ago that I am waitlisted for Peds Cardiac ICU. Has anyone else heard back/decided to accept or decline a spot in the PCICU? All this waiting is making me so anxious!!
