Figured I'd start a thread for those of us applying to the nurse residency program for 2011 to share thoughts, feelings, questions and to network with eachother a bit.

I'm Duluth! I'm a new grad with a previous degree in Biology. I'm applying for the Adult Critical Care track, with hopes of matching to Trauma or Emergency Services.

Looks like Vandy won you over!! Im glad to hear, I think between Georgetown and Vandy, you can not really go wrong but Vandy's program is cool because we get to rotate through and see all the units!

I noticed that you as well interviewed for Georgetown. I'm trying to decide between Vanderbilt and Georgetown.... any information/new insight now that you are in the residency would be greatly appreciated! What factors helped you decide?

Hey Wisconsin Grad:

I have been very pleased with 's nurse residency so far. We are almost off orientation. The experience has been very organized and well thought out. I think being a new nurse can be very overwhelming especially in the ICU so dealing with that can be challenging. However, with a residency like Vanderbilt's, I have felt very supported and well prepared. I am from VA so moving to Georgetown would have been much closer for me but because of the reputation of Vandy and the idea that I could rotate through each ICU made the decision easier for me.
