Vanderbilt Nurse Residency 2015

The application for the Vanderbilt nurse residency for February 2015 will open in August. Who all is applying? Does anyone have advice for those of us who will be applying?

I precepted in trauma step-down (in between med-surg and ICU) at a trauma center, but that wasn't an option so I went with the closest: adult acute. I would have loved NICU, peds or women, but I don't think my resume is competitive enough in those fields so I went with adult acute.

studentnurseosu- I actually haven't precepted yet, and I haven't found out my placement . I'm hoping for a NICU placement!!

Hey all, just wanted to reignite this thread since we are now all in the waiting period. I'm looking forward to hearing back from Vanderbilt this month and I am routinely checking my email for updates. How is everyone doing? The final semester of my program has been interesting so far, but I can't wait to graduate and really start practicing as a nurse! It is exciting to think about the possibility of moving to Nashville to begin our careers at VUMC! I hope you are all enjoying the end of this summer season.

hi @craigsoon2bebsn_rn - my last semester is going well. just been really busy with classes and clinical hours. i am also constantly checking my email! i know they said end of september but wont lie, i have checked my email like 4 times today ha!
