Yeah, I know... I'm waaaay ahead of time :) But I thought there might be some people planning ahead like me. I'm graduating in December and I thought some others might like to discuss what you are doing to help you get in! I have a 3.7, I'm doing a medical mission to Guatamala in May, attending the NSNA annual convention, and hopefully working at a special needs day camp over the summer. I know I need some volunteer hours, so I'm hoping to fit them in at the end of the summer and during next semester, and praying its enough. Anyone else? [Pediatrics BTW]
I am applying for the Summer 2014 track! The application goes out in one week. I am currently working on my objective, cover letter, and letter of intent. What were the short answer essays like in the application? Also, do you guys have any advice for me? I am applying for the critical care track.
To all of those who are just applying...good luck with the process. None of us for the Winter cohort have heard anything. We won't be finding out our fate until next week i guess. So sorry we cannot give you too many pointers since we all still don't know what's going on.
Sunshine daisy,
The packet was due by Sept 11 this year if i remember correctly. So it honestly depends on when you're done with the program. I don't see why you couldn't because you will be licensed by the time it actually starts.
Ava2442,
Yes. Everyone receives the bigger packet. It's all stuff that needs to be filled out online. Like track choice, recommendations, letter of intent, etc. From there, your application packets are scored and interviews are based on that and department needs. As for us, when I asked Tracey, she said they received between 600-700 packets and interviewed 212 total.
Hope this helps some.
