  1. I plan on applying of the Summer cohort as well! I am really interested in the Adult Critical Care Track. Hoping for the best! Any input or advice will be greatly appreciated! Good luck to all of you who are applying as well :))
  2. My overall GPA was a 3.5 and my prereq was a 3.8. I did have two prereq's in progress (Nutrition and Human Growth Development), which I took online from a community college. I did not have a college official form filled out by them though. I asked the dean of the university I graduated from to fill out mine. I graduated on May 2012 and applied approximately 3 months out of undergrad. Hope this helps! Good luck with your application!
  3. Hey everyone, Congrats to all of those that have been admitted into the program!! I just received my decision letter today and am happy to say that I will be joining you guys in the Spring! Extremely stoked to be moving back to FL! I also found the FB page and sent my request. Can't wait to meet you guys!
  4. To be honest, I'm not sure. Each school varies. In general, though, prerequisite GPA counts more than overall GPA; however, overall GPA still contributes to admissions criteria. I think the reason prerequisite GPA tends to count more is because the courses relate to the program. Someone may have a high overall GPA for a bachelor in History, whereas someone else may have an average overall GPA in Molecular Cell Biology... so to be fair, one cannot compare both sets of GPA when the level of difficulty is different.
  5. I didn't receive it as well. Not sure what it means either. The last email I received from them was in regards to the common application, which was back in June.
  6. Hey seemi19, I've also applied to the 2013 ABSN program. Haven't really heard much (other than the routine emails in regards to the application process). Consequently, I'm still going through the waiting period. Hoping for the best though!
  7. I applied for the scholarship and once they received all of my information, they sent me the following email: Good morning, Thank you for your interest in the UHealth/University of Miami Miller School of Medicine’s Accelerated BSN Scholarship Program. We have received your Nursing Scholarship Program Application. Should you be selected for a panel interview with nursing leadership, you will be sent an invite via email by November 12, 2012. Scholarship award decisions will be finalized and students will be notified by December 17, 2012. I wish you all the best in your educational endeavors. Please let me know if I can provide any additional information or assistance. Warm regards, ***** I heard very few students actually receive it, so I am just praying for the best! Good luck with your application process!
  8. Hey everyone! I applied to their ABSN Spring 2013 program as well. Haven't received any information since I finished the application back in June. I've been checking MyUNC every week and it always says "your decision is not yet available." It's a little frustrating because I really want to know where my plans for next year stand. I also applied to University of Miami, which they were extremely better at communicating. I just finished applying to Loyola University of Chicago today. My goal is to get into a program that starts in January so that I do not waste any more time. Just keeping my fingers crossed and praying to God for good news to arrive in the mail!
  9. Hey! I also plan on applying to UM's ABSN program. Haven't started my application yet. I am missing two of the pre-reqs (Nutrition and Human Growth Development). I will be taking them this fall. Consequently, I'm waiting on my Verification of Enrollment to begin the application process. I'm praying everything will work out. Getting into UM's program would be ideal because I'm dying to return to FL. Wish you all the best!!!!!
