Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Program Summer 2013

This thread is for those who are applying for the nurse residency program at Vanderbilt. I thought this would be a great place to keep up to date Inge selection process and make connections with new friends and colleagues. I am currently in my final year of nursing school at UCCS in Colorado. My goals are to be accepted for the adult critical care track an then return to school and become a CRNA. I know the job market is very competitive, especially for residency programs. I completed the online application 2 days ago and am waiting to hear back for more instructions. Good luck to everyone:)

Tracey told me before the interview that they are creating a Facebook group for all the residents, so they'll send us info about that.

I'm coming from Maryland!! Starting the housing search, but its so difficult not being down there! When is everyone from out of state moving down?

I'm leaning towards early June for moving in, just to give me a little extra time to figure out Nashville and get settled in. But yeah a Facebook group or something would be great - I'd really prefer to live in the downtown area, rents kinda pricy but I think it'd be worth it rather than having to drive and fight traffic everyday.

Hi everyone! Moving from Michigan for Peds track! Also looking to live downtown! I'm looking to move down in June as well. Started looking online for places and it definitely is different looking for a place out of state! I'm excited to meet everyone in July :)

I'm sending my acceptance letter today!! wooohoo ill prob go down end of June, and i heart West End area is a good place right by vandy.. its def worth it to live near everyhing even though its pricey and we dont make that much, but it will be convenient and fun!

So i made it off the waiting list for the Psych track!! I was so not expecting this, so I accepted a pool position where I currently live. I know it would be foolish not to accept Vanderbilt's offer, but I am so dumbfounded by the offer that I don't know what to do!!!

I am applying to the program for January 2014. Just wondering if any of the current nurse residents can tell me what the current salary is for the NRP program? The salaries listed seem to be several years old and I can't believe it is still $18/hour. It makes a difference whether I stay where I am or accept an offer from Vandy if one comes. I can't work for $18/hour and support my familiy.
