Vanderbilt MSN 2019

Published

Hi! I'm starting a thread for Vanderbilt MSN Fall 2019. Anyone else applying/re-applying too? Please comment!

If you factor in living expenses than yeah it turns out to be around 90k. With the automatic scholarship you get the speciality year ends up costing 60k without living expenses. So yeah that’s a pretty steep price to pay for an MSN. And 70k is a lot to pay for a BSN. So i can imagine many people will drop

I think a lot of drops after financial aid is released means, once people receive acceptances and their financial aid packages, some (many?) people will decline their offers due to the high price tag, freeing up more spots and opening up the waitlist. Oh the cost of private education ?

The two year option is really expensive. 140k would take someone at least a good three years to pay off so i can imagine why they would drop. But hopefully that will help others get in who don’t mind the price tag.

Does anyone know if this program starts in August or September? I knew at one point but now I'm confusing myself.

Are there any other current undergrad Vandy students lurking on here? If so, did you recieve an financial aid notice email? I do not know whether to read too deeply, or if its just an update for the 2018-2019 year....

I am not an undergrad Vandy student...but I got a financial aid email with like 4-5 attachments of info. It says in the email this goes out to all applicants and it is not an indication of whether or not you got into the program.

Thanks for the insight! I am thinking this is a different email though because it didn't have any attachments and linked to our YES page which is our student landing that has links to everything you need as a student (student accounts, degree audit, etc.). @ other current Vandy students?

Agreed. I feel like I am in limbo

Hey friends! I’m new here & I am so glad I found this site. I have been super stressed waiting on decisions. I literally just got off the phone with a woman from admissions. She asked for my name, I totally thought she was about to tell me something. All she was doing was verifying if I applied in the priority batch ? (I submitted 10/29/18). She said it MAY be in the new few days & she apologizes for the wait. So stressful!
