This thread is for all of those out there who are planning on applying to one of Vanderbilt's MSN programs for Fall 2013. I'm starting to get my application packet together. I haven't started my interview survey questions and goal statement yet but I need to get on it. I need to take the GRE still though. Has anyone taken that? What did you get? Did you study? Harder than you thought?
Hi everyone and congrats on the interview jb30! I also applied for the PMHNP program. Has anyone else been interviewed for it yet? I'm trying to stay positive and not get nervous, but I'm wondering how long they'll be interviewing for. Did they say anything about that during your interview jb? Let's all hope February goes by quickly!
Hi Ash,Are you pre-specialty or direct entry? If the former, there is another thread (Vanderbilt 2013 Pre-specialty) that answers your questions. Some of us have shared stats too to help give us an idea where we stand!
from my experience FNP is usually one of the slower specialties perhaps because of so many applicants...hopefully something will be heard in the next couple of weeks!
Another question for you all--what are breaks like in the program? My boyfriend and I want to get married at some point in the next 2 years and are thinking about the best time to do so in such a compact program. I have looked at the academic calendar to get an idea, but would love your impressions. Thanks a million!! You guys are lifesavers :)
I got this email yesterday morning. I'm applying for Direct Entry Family Nurse Practitioner. I thought I would share this with you all!
"Your application is under review by the FNP faculty. As soon as we have received an admission decision, we will notify you. I anticipate that it will be by mid-February."
Was it an automated email or in response to an inquiry? The last thing I heard was around the middle of December when I got an email from an applicant coordinator saying that my file was complete. Haven't heard anything since.
I emailed them asking them when we would hear back because I'm in a bit of a different situation.. but she said we would hear back by mid Feb :)

I applied to the direct entry psych/mental health NP specialty. I just had my phone interview today. They said they will send out admissions decisions the first week of march.
