  1. Admitted for Direct Entry FNP!!! Looks like I will be relocating to Nashville!!
  2. Obnurse85...I don't know if you read my story from earlier but I am a repeat applicant from last year so mine was submitted WAY before lol....i was told i was admitted but then there wasn't anymore space so I had to be waitlisted because i submitted my application in January and NMW decided I wasn't a good fit (you do the NMW classes before FNP for the dual program). I had an interview last year around this time actually. I have a fairly strong gpa and good gre scores and letters from APRNs...timing was the downfall last year....i dont know what is going on this year since I was told I would be in the first group to be rereviewed. Maybe I just need more patience....I have a lot of fear because last year I didn't find out there wasn't room for me until almost 2 weeks later after I was initially told I was admitted...I was beginning to make arrangements and everything because I live in Dallas, TX. Anyway hopefully we will be classmates!
  3. Obnurse85....do you live in or near Nashville? I haven't received any letters and my file is still under review even though I was suppose to be in the first round of reviews. This is extremely frustrating...
  4. Are you FNP only or did you apply for the NMW/FNP?
  5. I dont know why so late for us when prespecialty is getting letters..
  6. I spoke with someone in admissions this morning around 1030 and as of that moment no letters have been sent out for Direct Entry FNP ( BSN RN) applicants. Applications were still under review. hopefully we will hear something soon
  7. i spoke with admissions around 1030 this morning and as of that time no letters have been sent out for Direct Entry FNP ( BSN RN applicants) files were still under review with faculty. Hopefully we will hear soon!
  8. I live in Dallas, TX and several hospitals have gone to/are going to BSN only for new grad applicants and for experienced RN positions it states BSN preferred.
  9. Congrats...but you should probably change your name since you have not earned that credential...i believe that is a rule on this site and its technically illegal.
  10. I am still fairly early in my career as well....I am 23 but I have been a RN for two years and I graduated with my BSN when I was 21....I wasn't a "good fit" based on my interview with the nurse midwife faculty... Essentially, I lacked enthusiasm with the intrapartum process (L&D)....I did not have a great response when she asked me what kind of intrapartum experiences I was looking for.. my response was "oh whatever you have to offer since I do not have much intrapartum experience" (I am an OR nurse!) when in actuality I HATE labor and delivery!!! So i was not surprised....I applied for the dual program because I wanted to be able to deliver babies if I needed too...it was not going to be a top priority lol....with the dual program you do the NMW stuff first and then the FNP classes later....it seems like the emphasis is more so on the NMW and you are trained to FNP if need be....when the admissions counselor contacted me she said you have an unusual situation because apparently most people are accepted into NMW and denied FNP but I was the opposite....in regards to adding a specialty on later I actually asked about that last year and I was told it is very difficult to do...you have to meet with several people and "petition" and apply with that program and state why and it can delay graduation or something...
  11. Around the last week of February to the first week of March most people receive a decision it seems...
  12. I submitted my application after the priority deadline and applied for the dual program NMW/FNP. NMW stated that I wasn't a "good fit" for the program but FNP admitted me. When they told me I was admitted they did not realize that space was full for both fulltime and parttime so I did not find until 2 weeks later that they were full! I spoke with a few people and they said that they could not just "create an extra seat" and that I would have to be moved to waitlisted. Henceforth, no one declined admissions for FNP so I had to "reapply" for the following year and for fulltime position ensuring that everything was complete back in october! They just had me submit an additional letter of recommendation. So everything should be golden this time around!
  13. When I applied for combination program NMW/FNP last year I had a phone interview with faculty from both programs. From prior experience and understanding NMW and FNP both interview applicants.
  14. Have any FNP applicants received any updates or interviews? Particularly RN BSN applicants?
