hello everyone,

I am new here . I have just started going back to school vccc after years of distractions;). I am realy confused excited, anxiaus, you name it I have it .I am wondering if anyone have an experience going to valencia community college here is orlando, florida. A coworker of mine is going to florida hospital college of nursing and she likes it, and says it is easy to get accepted . unlike me she gets free tuition and cost isn't an issue for her. I need advise from people who have been thru this if possible . what did you pick vcc or private college? does anyone know the waiting list for valencia versus florida hospitalcollege?

thanks a bunch:redpinkhe

Hi, first off, welcome to the forum! It's an awesome resource. Let me first say that I'm currently in the first semester of VCC's nursing program. It's a great program, and I'm learning so much. The waiting time is approx. two terms (1 year) after you've done all of your pre reqs. Not sure about FHCHS's waiting time. I did go to FHCHS for my first term of college, and pretty much hated it. It was overpriced, disorganized, and I learned a lot more at VCC. For instance, the other night my friend went to the college night at FHCHS, and nursing 4 students couldn't figure out how to take blood pressure. Wow...I've already learned that. I've heard through the grapevine that FHCHS has made much of their program "self teach", including things like vitals. If that's true, not cool. Hope that helped any, as I've experienced both sides, and can tell you VCC is far more superior in my opinion (and a lot cheaper!)
