VA Proficiency Nurse II to III help

Hello, I am working on my VA proficiency yet again trying to get a promotion to a nurse III. It has been a very frustrating process and last time I appealed all the way to VACO without any luck.

Is there anyone willing to share their proficiency for when they got promoted from a nurse II to a nurse III?

I'm in the same boat.. Im a Community Health Nurse... I'm a patient liason between contract nursing homes and the VA. Assisting with consults, assist with travel, and appts. Work closely with VA SW, and NPs.  I make visits to VA contracted nursing homes every 2 months to asses our veterans who is admitted for LTC, respite, and hospice care and rehab..I've been in this position for a little over a year now.. im trying to figure out how do I even write for a nurse ll to lll in this position.  If any one can help me please,  I'm all ears. Also willing to share nurse ll examples if needed.  We re all in this together❤

Hello everyone,

I am an RN with 20 years of experience. I have been at the VA for 9 years. My supervisor has tried for the past 7 out of 9 to get me a Nurse III, so far nothing. I got my MSN 4 years ago, still nothing. One of the board member told me they go by what's on the paper. Will anyone be willing to share their proficiency that got them to a Nurse III please. I came here looking for help in leveling up from a Step 1 level 3 nurse to a Step 2 nurse.  I see a lot of you already have your Nurse 2.  If anyone can give me input on my paper I'd greatly appreciate it.  I cannot create a new thread because I just joined so I'm piggybacking here!

The proficiency process needs a long haul update!  Nobody should be as stressed as we get doing a yearly proficiency!! We looked at the amount of monthly proficiencies and the days the committee meats and we figure about 5 minutes per proficiency.  All of that work so they can judge you in a few minutes.  Grrrr.  Not to mention if your not a good writer and trying to break down what they want in terms you actually understand.  Grrr.

I have the same problem. I've been with the VA for 14 years and have been denied promotion to Nurse III 5 times. I submitted for VACO reconsideration but with what I've read in this thread it will also be denies. If anyone is willing to share their proficiency that got them the Nurse III please send it to: [email protected]. I will appreciated.
