VA Palo Alto New Grad Program 2023

Didn't see a forum regarding the VA Palo Alto New Grad Program that's supposed to start in July. I heard decisions are supposed to be solidified mid-April, so I was wondering if anyone heard back yet for interviews, etc?

I interviewed on Wednesday of last week with med surg/tele.

Hiii so I just got notified that the nurse managers are contacting references now. Might be different for each unit though.

Yes same here! I wonder how much longer this means we'll have to wait; really hoping we hear something back by next week haha

The manager I interviewed with asked me for letters of recommendation I wonder if he will be calling my references as well? he asked for 3 letters

Also do you think they are contacting references for everyone who interviewed? Or just people who they are thinking of hiring?

I know the mangers I interviewed with actually reached out to 2 of my references, but have been struggling to get a hold of the last one....makes me wonder how long they'd be willing to wait...

This is something I was wondering as well. To be honest after browsing a lot of posts regarding the VA, it seems like it's vey common for them to reach out for references...so I'm trying my best not to get too excited, even if signs seem promising haha

How do you know they have reached out did the manager tell you they are having trouble contacting your third? I haven't heard anything so I am hoping they aren't having any trouble.

For me the nurse manager contacted me that she left a voicemail for my references.
