VA HPSP 2020 - Scholarship Award Updates?

Hey guys,

Just curious if anyone else here applied for the Veterans Affairs Health Professional Scholarship Program this year for PMHNP. I've been seeing lots of posts on other forums for different specialities (pharm, med, PA, BSN) but nothing from psych NP applicants. If anyone has heard back or is nervously awaiting as well, I'd love to connect. I'm feeling really hopeful about the opportunity and the silence is killing me! ?

Congratulations to all those that have been awarded!!

I'm thinking of applying for this scholarship. I know that the residency location is based on need. I wanted to know if employment after the residency can be done at any VA location, or if you are also assigned to a VA for full-time employment? Thank you.

You can give back the two years after the one residency at any VA.

Hi, your story gives me hope! I applied for the HPSP app too and was just placed on alternate status. Did you just wait it out or you send an email to them? I know it's been a while, I tried private messaging you, but it wouldn't allow me! Thank you. ?

Hello, I just waited and received an email a month or so later. How long has it been since you received the alternate status? It was alot of waiting, wishing and praying LOL. It's a slow process there are alot of moving parts in the background. Hang in there.

Hey! I literally received the email today but found this site and was curious! Definitely been praying a lot and will continue to :). Thank you so much for your response, I will wait it out and see. Hanging in there!
