VA Hiring Process: Referral Email, How long is the wait?

Has anyone applied to the VA Healthcare System and received a referral email?, saying, "We reviewed your application and concur that you are qualified for the position listed above. We have referred your name to the selecting official(s) for consideration, and they will contact you if an interview is needed". So my question is, how long is usually the waiting period until they start making calls for an interview? Or anyone has any experiences with this process? I would like to know how the hiring process goes? Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Applying for a job a the VA is a long process. It depends on the closure date and the date that you applied. In general I would say you may know in 2-3 weeks after closing. That email is the first step but it does not mean that you automatically will be called for interview. Expect a second email for status of application. They will call you for interview it you qualify, then you will have to wait a few weeks to hear about it. If you get selected you will be called by Human Resources. If you dont get the call, you will get an email that will tell you somebody else was selected. I dont want to discourage you, it just takes forever...

But if you get the job, you will see it was worth the wait. The whole process could take about 1 month. Good luck!

I am in the midst of the same process and have also recieved the same emails. From what I have been told the times can vary greatly. The whole VA hiring process seems to be a, hurry up and wait, system. I am trying to be patient, and I am not a patient person. Good luck.

You sound like someone who understands this process. Are you familiar with the NOR rating? I recieved an email with a rating of 94. I'm not sure what this means.
