VA Eligibility and ATT process.

Hi So I Paid $190 In VA Board of Nursing for the Application by Examination and they supplement me with a checklist.. All of those checklist were completed and one of them is the eligibility letter,.

Question is..

1. Do you wait for the VA BON to send you a Eligibility letter before you register or make an account in Pearson vue? or

2.Make an account in Pearson vue and coz VA BON don't send you eligibility letter, only the ATT from pearson vue?

confusion is... people says wait for the Eligibility letter from VA BON through email and THEN register to pearson vue.. and by register means make an account? (which is it doesn't make sense coz VA BON sends info to pearson vue electronically. and by that what will happen if they send it electronically to pearson vue when u dont have an account on them).

other people says it's the opposite.

If anyone can help me, it would be very nice and appreciated. Thank you.

Sign up for an account at Pearson now, why wait? Your state will send you your ATT and then you can schedule a test date with Pearson Vue.

Thank you Don1984,RN,BSN. Like you said I just created an account in pearson, it says wait 1 business day to process the account creation. Is Eligibility letter the same as ATT? my co workers says I will receive eligibility letter from VA BON and I will receive my ATT at Pearsons.

Once you get your email from the BON or you are able to schedule a test date on Pearson website, you are good. You will not be able to schedule a date and time on Pearson until the BON notifies Pearson.

Just for a record.. as soon as you paid the application fee on VA, go ahead and pay the pearson at the same

time. the transition is fast and in just a day or two u'll get your ATT via email. Do not wait for the eligibility mail

from BON coz all are online process. hope this helps other people that has this confusion on their first application.

Hi am currently in this process.. hopefully anyone of you guys still uses this website. I just paid the $190. And I see the checklist now & everything says unchecked. Did you have to wait 30 days for them to process your initial application? How did you know what paper work to send them? I was told a letter should come in the mail with instructions, but how long will that take to come?

They only sent me a letter when they were missing my transcripts. I had to wait 30 days and then i started calling everyday until it was done. You should only have to do the background check/fingerprint stuff and send your transcripts.

I am from Virginia and I test 5/26

I graduated on 5/6 and received my ATT 5/12 - I did the following

I registered with the VBON and immediately did the pearson stuff.

This way you know it is all finished and no one has to wait on you to finish any steps :)

ESPECIALLY since they send the ATT by email! You don't have to wait for the letter to arrive to sign up.

Thank you guys so much for replying!

Pandamom44, so what did you wait 30 days for? And called & asked if what was done? I was given no instructions on what I should do or anything so I'm kind of lost.

SWimbish how long did you wait after you paid for your initial application for them to contact you? And how did you know what documents to send the VA BON?

I waited 30 days for them to process my application and stuff. Everything was unchecked until the 30 days were up. They were kinda slow about it. Lol

Wow.. i was hoping that was an estimate time and it usually gets processed faster :( I really wish my school told us to do this from a long time ago. They just left us hanging. When did your department send in your transcripts and other documents? After the 30 days were up or before?

I had several friends who got their ATT before i did though! They sent my transcripts in a few days after we graduated. The BON said they never got them...although the school sent all the transcripts together in one big envelope. So i sent them again.
