UWORLD vs Kaplan

Hey guys,

I am taking the NCLEX RN for the 3rd time in August! The first time around I only used UWorld and had 265 questions. The second time around, I used RN Mastery app and the SPIDERMAN packet and videos and I also had 265 questions. With the performance report on this test I had nearly passing in EVERY category!

With all that in mind, I'm stressed and not sure what I need to focus on to pass. I am worried about how I'm applying the answers to the questions.

My question is, should I go back to UWORLD or try Kaplan? My current employer told me they would pay for one or the other, just want to make the best decision.

Thanks everyone!

I used both UWorld and Kaplan. I did 2000 questions on Kaplan and about 1000 on UWorld.

When I took the NCLEX, I realized just how helpful U world was to me. The rationales were more in depth; Kaplan's rationales are too brief, there are no pictures or diagrams for reference.

I recommend UWorld over Kaplan any day.

Finish the q bank on U world and make sure to read the rationales. Here's another tip: when you finish up the q bank, set the filter to the incorrect questions and see if you'll get them right. Another tip: when you set your questions, select ALL. That way you get a mix of new questions and repeat questions. Do at least 100 questions a day. You can do 25 questions in four sessions so you dont get overwhelmed. Keep track of how many questions you do per day.

Kaplan user here, apply strategy with patho.

Agree with previous post. Filter incorrect ones and do them over and over till you get 100%.

U-world explains very nicely; with Kaplan you look it up in their book.

wishing you the best of luck!!
