Anyone heard yet from UWF for Spring 2022?

Hi everyone! I was accepted for Fall 2023 and was wondering how everyone is doing? I am a FT night shift RN (have to stay FT). I live in Florida, and am concerned about finding my own preceptors. I was accepted into Carson Newmans FNP and they find preceptors, so im not sure which way to go ? is it doable to do this program FT while working FT? Any info would be appreciated!

I work, take care of two kids, and run the house. I have not started clinical yet, but I really like UWF and find it very doable.  Some assignments and more challenging than others, but it’s doable.  I’m really enjoying UWF.

@dbitrn do you know of any students who have troubles finding clinical placements? I commend you for doing all you do!!

I only know one person who graduated here from Gainesville and she did not have a problem, but I don’t know anyone else. Sorry. I’ll be trying soon. I’m a little concerned, but fingers crossed.

Hi again @dbitrn, I was just wondering about the format of classes? Are we completely on our own for learning the material? Do we just have textbooks to rely on? Im not sure how I feel about completely teaching myself

There are text books. There is posts and discussion boards. The teachers answer anything you ask. It’s independent, but not on your own. My friend who is in Walden is very on her own. The tests so far are limited chapters and worded like boards not like science. I’m very happy so far at UWF.

Hey! Sorry to bother you again. I am officially registered for classes? Do you have any info/opinions on the Professors? For advanced health assessment, I have (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME). For foundations, (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME), and for health promo, (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME). Any info would be great!! Thanks ?

So I had (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) for something and I liked her a lot. My friend had (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) and liked her too. I don’t know (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME). I have (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) next semester for Health Assessment and now for Pharm. I actually forgot the name of the teacher I had for Patho. (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) is awesome! She’s very positive and spunky. I haven’t had a problem with any teachers and my coworker is in the same program and hasn’t had a problem either. The only thing is some grade faster than others, and you know how we  all hate waiting on grades. Some grade harsher on APA then others.  If they take points off it’s very few. What I’m learning about the teachers in the non-science class teachers want to see that you have knowledge of what they are teaching.  They are not trying to tear apart every little mistake.  If you follow the rubric you’ll get 100 or very high grade. They grade strictly by the rubric. As for the science teachers it’s pretty much tests and for Pharm Shadow Health which you’ll also have in Health Assessment. I can tell you if you post questions to them or email them they will respond quickly at least all of the teachers that I’ve had.
