Hi everyone!

This is my first time applying to the UW  BSN program. I am a post bacc student with a undergrad in pysch from UW this past march. I also currently have about 2,000 hours in healthcare hours from my CNA hospital position. I am pretty nervous about the application process but I have applied to 5 other schools so I am remaining hopeful. I am excited to go through the process with all of you!

Hey everyone, this is more about their general application. Are you guys putting in a separate personal statement because someone in the past told me that they put in their personal statement from the nursing application and just tweaked it a bit to tailor to the gen. app. personal statement.

Stadia.aa, that is exactly what I have done with my general application personal statement.

Hi all-

I got invited to take the proctored essay and was hoping to get some tips. Could anyone who took the essay give some advice on what to expect and how to prepare for it? Thank you!

From what I gathered so far from other posts here the essay topic is on determinants of health, nurse's role, and covid-19.  There are calculation component of the test and you should look up registerednursern on Youtube and watch her dosage calculation videos.  I hope this helps and force be with you!

if you need extra practice with the math I have found dosagehelp website to be helpful and resourceful!

haha you guys are making me feel a bit better too LOL....IDK the question felt toooo broad to me, maybe it's just me. The math questions were okay except the third one. I was angryy at it too and I want to know the right answer so badly...

Mine was the second math problem and I kept making the weirdest setups to the calculation. The next thing I know I dropped the f bomb and then I was like crap that was recorded.

What did you guys get for the math problems? I got 24 mL for the first one, 1.8 mL for the second and 1400 mL for the last one.

I'm with you all! I also felt like the third math question was weird. Did you all save you answers?

The essay was eh, I think I rambled a lot... has anyone heard how many applicants there were? And I wonder why everyone was invited to the essay this time instead of like previous years where only half were invited. Maybe because it's easier to weed out that essay first, rather than going through the entire application for everyone.

@playitasitlays I was thinking the same thing. How many words did you end up writing for the essay?

I got the same on the math answers, did anybody else not put in mL because my application said it only accepted numeric answers. My essay wasn’t very long.
