Hey ya'll!
Hope everyone is healthy and safe!
I wanted to know if anyone could share their experience (current/previous) in the ABSN program. What are the course load and clinic hours like? Is working part-time feasible? How did students pay for housing and living costs while in school (loans, scholarships, family help, etc.) What would you have done differently going into the program as well during the program? What specialities did you get to experience in your clinical rotations? Do you have a residency lined up or job offers?
Looking forward to your responses, cheers!

25g is 25000mg.
25000mg X 15ml divided by 3000mg = 125ml you don't need a calculator for this. you just need to cancel out the zeroes first then multiple and divide the rest.
I see. That is way easier, I did what dosage help taught: (order / have) * mL. So I did 25/3 * 15. 25/3 is 8.3 repeating, so I just did 8.33 * 15. Thanks for explaining this easier way.

Yeah I assumed there would be less as well- hopefully they’ll let us know a specific number like they did last year according to the 2020 forum!
Anyone else feel a bit thrown off by the essay prompt? I had been practicing more of like nursing situations. Oh well!
My main points were that nurses should have an awareness about the disproportionate effects COVID has had on marginalized communities, that nurses should have integrity and courage when faced with difficult situations (my nursing home had a COVID outbreak so I talked about that), and then that nurses are uniquely poised to create change through policies, so we need nurses to be more active in advocating for change in this way.
I felt kind of eh about it near the end. Not my best, but not my worst either. How'd everyone else feel about their essay?
I was also surprised by the essay prompt. It seemed like an exam question to me testing knowledge of social determinants of health, which I am not sure was super fair since everyone applying to the program has a very different academic background. I was definitely thrown off and wish I had more of an opportunity to showcase myself and why I should be in the program as opposed to showcasing my knowledge on a specific topic.
Well I say, don’t stress about it! What is done is done! We all have our weaknesses that need working on and I am sure we’ll have the chance in the future to do so. I know now what I need to work on now and if I don’t get in this cohort then there’s always the next. Keep pressing forward ladies & gents! Expect the worse & hope for the best.
I hope to see all of you in class soon. ?
